Dune mmo

Anyone seen movie Dune(the 1984 version)(link))?  Just came across me and thought it would make an epic mmorpg.  If you havent watched it though I suggest so, its classic although I havent in long time. 

If you have seen it then you would know why it would make a good mmo in some aspects more then other movies.  Its related a lot to star wars in some sences.  There is vast character creation in it that goes beyond star wars even.  The roles played by each character make it special. 

Im probabaly beating a dead horse, it is an old movie.  There are a lot of different factions in the movie which is a good starting point to any good mmorpg.

    I think if I remember rightly that there was a MMO in the works for DUNE once but it got canned do not remember the details

    could be the game Dune, there was one made long times ago for the PC.  It was fun to, I downloaded it free off the net some time ago, its a 2d game similar to the likings of something near a yoda stories or similar.

    I would love to play a Dune MMO. Maybe something Bioware could pull off in the future?

    Also on a side note it’s not beating a dead horse as I believe there is a new movie in the works as well so who knows if that comes out there may be a MMO for it

    Ya, there is alot of story in dune to be told, Bioware could rip through it like a champ Im sure.

    I dont think if it's the best setting if it would be on Arrakis only, I mean, when people get tired of sand there's no where to run. I'm not sure how much there is base material besides Arrakis. If someone ends up making the game and includes the home planets of every faction + Arrakis, I'd be interested in it :) Too few if any note worthy character based scifi mmorpgs on the market to begin with.
