Funny that the first comment in this thread simply says "EA (chuckles)" when in reality, this has nothing to do with EA, but in fact everything to do with games.co.uk...
"HOWEVER, support and other sources have also stated that CE will get 7 days and Standard 3, no matter when these codes have been redeemed."
This is innacurate. EA customer service and BioWARE's Steven Reid both haev stated several times in the past few days that the type of pre-order will have no impact at all on early access. It is all based on the the time that the pre-orcer code was entered.
You people are so silly. "the earlier you input your pre-order code the earlier you get into the game" is the MMO equivalent of "Act Now! Supplies are Limited!" It's an attempt to get people to impulse buy the pre-order. Also, the faster you input your code the sooner they'll have accurate launch population data, so they'll know how many servers to warm up.
I bet they'll have enough servers ready to carry the entire subscriber base of WoW and we'll still see queues.....just to irritate me.

Exactly.
It's a marketing tool and people are falling for it hook - line - sinker... all over again.
The only reason anyone would want to hope for a early acces is for the naming of the characters.
most games forget to make the game whit a global handle so everyone can get the name they like so competition for character names is what drives people into logging in as soon they can to make a dozen alts.
Normally the headstart would be important to me, but I'm treating SWTOR much more like a journey, rather than a "endgame" MMO, like WoW or WAR. So it doesn't bother me when I get in, I'll be taking my time to get to the cap.
I don't even get why early access is an issue in this gamelol...
it's not like your in compeition with anyone for anything.
I will be happy to get in when I get in, no rush no drama.
If you don't get in the first day early access is available you aren't part of the "cool" club. Don't you want to be cool vesavius? Plus those in the cool club might also get matching jackets...
This is a MMORPG, so by definition this game is a competition between players who will be the first to get to the end of the game. That's what MMORPGs are about. So not every day, but every hour in this race is important.

No, that's what MMO's are about for you, most people don't care about reaching the cap first. I'd go as far as to say that most MMO players are casual ones who only play a few hours a day. The 'hardcore' who race to end game and play round the clock are but a minority.

Newsflash, If you play like that, you are missing most of the game.

You've got to be kidding me. You really think that this is the approach that most MMORPG players take? There is not even anything about competition in the abbreviation MMORPG. You are just projecting your playstyle onto others. Not even realising that many if not most players don't see PVE as competition. It also doesnt make sense if developers specifically create PVP with leaderboards as competition. Then it is kind of obvious that PVE isn't meant as race.
But I guess it is easy to win a race that you run on just your own, while other players only take part in your imagination.

I could be wrong! Indeed Ian hopeing against hope someone on here can reasure me that EA will not be worse than cryptic and have a sub and a pay to win cash shop oh how much is the monthly sub anyways?

True for you I guess, gladly I can it isnt for me.

lol the email I got actually DID say pre orders were limited in an effort to get you to panic buy.
How can preorders be 'limited' ffs... surely they can put up whatever servers they need based on the pre order sales they make?

Wow, you guys really hate SWTOR.
I guess it has something to do with this website being WoW fanboys.
The article is incorrect.
It's already been confirmed that:
A) The time duration of early access is not effected by CE or SE or Digital Deluxe edition. That was dropped.
That currently (as of yesterday) not enough preorders have come in to significantly affect your position in "the line". (Day 1, Day 2 at most)
Research is good folks.

At lease they are are able to pre-order in their country...

Pre-ordered the CE from Origin.com with a hour of the pre-order announcement.
My code arrived about an 30 min ago - registered fine for 7 days.
I got my code yesterday.

If you are taking 150 busk for a product, you better do things right, lame.

Australia doesn't even get their own pre-order, and you are fussing over unable to get early access.
Rant moar plz?
How much WoW could a WoWhater hate, if a WoWhater could hate WoW?
As much WoW as a WoWhater would, if a WoWhater could hate WoW.
Sigh, why do so many people think like WoW?
Wow is an AI now?
