Looking for a MMORPG. Some opinions from mature people would be great :)

well im after a mmorpg to play. im after something with a good pvp model, losta player interaction (like crafting and economy systems) and hopefully a sci fi setting (so much fantasy, bleh).
ive been doing LOTS of research and SWG just sounds too, carebear for me. the idea of not looting someone you beat in pvp makes it seem 'light'. ive tried EVE and sure it was good, but the space thing on its own wasnt enough. SWG's Jump to Lightspeed made me interested coz i was going to get my space thing (like Freelancer) but then also get my usual RPG fix (walking around, towns, bars to hang out in and stuff like that).
but yeah, SWG just doesnt seem to have the pvp action im after. crafting system sounds great although losta people are talking of SOE like its a dirty, drunken evil uncle atm. as in, oo not him. he smells. go away uncle.
i dont get interested in the pure pve so stuff like EQ2 and others like it just leave me cold. dunno about WoW, people say the community is appaling and young. id have to say thats what nearly sold me on EVE straight away, the older more mature and interesting community.
and (goddamn it) im just fresh from Guild Wars. its just not a MMORPG. i wont rant about it being crap, its just not a MMORPG and hence not the game im looking for.
I played a fair bit of UO and dammit if the interface and general game didnt play and look like something out of the 1950s then i would probably still be there. from what ive read on these boards lotsa older gamer vets feel the same way.
so quick recap, yeah i know really SWG and EVE are the sci fi ones and thats about it (i tried Anarchy Online and that was old and crappy i felt). feel free to tell me about fantasy based ones too.

You are looking for a mature response? Does that mean you look for a mature community as well?
Eve-online has a very mature community. It has a very advanced market system. Completely player driven. Alot of manufacturing going on in the game. Very advanced politics. Enjoyable pve and the most exciting pvp i've ever seen in any mmorpg. Ofcourse a sci-fi setting.

you can also go to their movie link on the site and check out some ingame footage if you don't feel like downloading the game.

yeah im rapidly thinking EVE is the way to go. ive taken one 14 day trial and it maybe time for another.
apparently they are only 7 days now thou, ill have to go and take a look.
