Starting my first char for WOW, i need some professional opinions

Looking for a pro's help on the char I want to make
Race: Night Elf
Class: Hunter
Professions: Enchanting-Alchemy-Herbalism-Fishing-Cooking-Engineering

As a hunter, I recommend skinning and leatherworking as professions, the best combo I have seen for them, good cash flow as you have many stacks of leather to sell on the AH plus you can make you armor until you hit 40th...
but thats just my opinion....

so i shuld prolly drop like engineering and grab leather working and skinning
i only thought engineering because i can make ammo and quirrels

I mean that for every Druid, paladin, and warrior, there are 5 hunters. It is the most popular class.

Don't listen to them... Try any class and make sure you pick the one you enjoy. Don't base your class choice on other peoples needs or wants.
I have gotten 2 hunters to 60 and each time was a new experience, horde/alliance... They are a very fun class and I recommend Alchemy/Herbalism or a money making profession like Herbalism/Mining and drop everythign in the AH. To be honest, Leatherworking doesnt have much for a hunter post 40. Hunters use mail and the mail created by LWing is a joke.

3.) Professions: a) $$ Mining/Herbalism or b) herbalism/Alchemy
4) Server: PvE (Wont get ganked while questing/grinding or whatever your doing. Pvp: Bored level 60 walk around ganking you in the 15+ zones...
For your server, if you want a mature crowd and not the typical Bnet kiddies that spam general chat with " Ohhh yaaa! I have a 56 and a 34! Ooo pwnd" then I suggest you join a RP server. Yes RP is role-play but I dotn role-play and I joined thinking teh community would be ebtter and I was right. Join Argent Dawn server.... Also on RP/PvE servers you can make both horde/alliance characters. and theres STILL PvP, so dont let that get your hopes down.
Msg me on AIM if ya wanna play, i just rerolled on ARgent dawn recently... and guess what class? Hunter, but this time a dwarf. This will be my 3rd hunter.

Anyway, yeah, Hunters a great class, but I found it too tedious to continue after hitting 30. I'm sure you, and others like it though.

Night Elves are very popular, can't go wrong with that choice.
Hunters are great soloers. I heard they kick butt in PvP. You may have trouble finding group at the end, but if you get in a guild then it shouldn't be a problem.
You can only have 2 professions in addition to Fishing/Cooking/First Aid.
Enchanting requires you to dis-enchant other items (which may be of value), so it is expensive at first.
Alchemy/Herbalism is a good combo.
Engineering requires you to buy supplies and some items are one-time use only, so it is expensive as well.
As someone else said Skinning/Leatherworker (skinning in particular is a money maker) is a good combo.
I think you are going to have fun with whatever you choose!

You can only have choose 2 primary professions out of this list: herbalism, mining, skinning, alchemy, blacksmithing, engineering, leatherworking, tailoring and enchanting.
But you can pick whatever combo you like. Herbalism gives you the herbs you need for alchemy. Skinning gives you the materials you need for leatherworking. Some people take herbalism/skinning and just sell their stuff to vendors or put them up for auction.
In addition to your 2 primary professions, you can have all of the secondary professions: fishing, cooking, first aid.

Hunters are probly 2nd most popular class after rogue. They are easy to play, one of the best soloers IMO.
As a profession, you can go either skinning/leather mining/blacksmithing herb/alchemy
If you go skinning/leather then u can craft armor for you but mind this, at level 40 hunters can wear chain, so leatherworking becomes pretty much useless except to make a few bux selling craftables.
If u go mining/blacksmithing, you can outfit yourself at level 40 with armor and weapons. So far blacksmithing is most rewarding, in terms of items, but it is also most popular one, so dont expect to make a lot of donuts from selling items. Youd need to get pretty rare recipes.
Herb/alcehmy - while not making any permanent items, you can make consumable like potions, and such. This prof is very useful because it enhances your gameplay, it lets you be more versatile, more effective and prolonges your survivability. Healing pots, pots that enhance you primary ability, regen pots, speed boos pots - all of those make u stronger, tougher and lets you pick up chicks in a spot.
My hunter us herb/alchemist, and i saved my own skin thousands of times by healing or running away. Plus, you can make some coin by selling potions.Not a huge but steady income.
I would not recommend going enchanting becuase then u are left with only 1 proffession (you can only have 2 primary proffessions) and all lothers require 2nd proffession to be fully effective, plus enchanting isnt realy worth while at this stage - you gotta be realy high level enchanter to be effective and to get some income - getting enchanting high is VERY expencive. What you could do, is go with herb/alchemy, and if you realy want to be enchanter, then make an alt enchanter/herb - that way your alt can gather resources for your main as well.

So you dont like the game and you make an assumtion he wont like it either? You cant realy know if you like the game without trying it first. What we can do is share some experience on WHY you like it or dont, but spare yours and our time by posting useless posts like this. Especialy since the topic of the post mentions that he already started playing.
