Does this game go anywhere?

Just wondering, because it has this feel, like if I keep grinding, there might be more content that will unfold as I progress - but I'm not sure.  I got past the prologue, and aside from the story missions ending, and choosing a side, nothing seems to have changed.  Still no choice of ships, same basic equipment options, two mission hubs to choose from that seem roughly identical, with missions that appear interesting at first, but all turn out to feel the same.

So, does it get better, or should I just quit now?  I don't want to flat out say I don't like it, but it does feel very monotonous.  If there isn't any more content waiting, than ok, guess it's just not the game for me.  I can't tell though.  Maybe it just starts off really  slow?

When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

Interestingly enough, Im watching this game-play on Massively TV live stream now.  http://www.livestream.com/massivelytv?utm_source=lsplayer&utm_medium=embed&utm_campaign=footerlinks

Looks cool, but I have the same question as the OP since it's been a long time since I've looked this game up.

Guess the lack of response might be the best answer I get.  The game really is this simple.  They went the extra mile on polishing a prologue, but that's pretty much the whole game, right there.  That's pretty sad.

hehe...I've been turning back to this thread through-out the day to see if there was anything also.  Guess it's not as robust and deep as one would hope.

I'm not sure what your asking.. The game is no more repetitive than any other MMO.

I guess later on, you have to do exploration missions to find new starbases.

There's instanced missions you can play.. And playing the same mission 5 times can yield different scripted events in the mission, making it seem like a completely different experience.

And apparently there's high end clan vs clan pvp to battle over resource stations.

    What are you asking for?

I'm lvl 13 right now and have 4 stations and 15 or so zones unlocked and each station has 10 or more missions with level variations. You only get the one ship type. The slots on the ship never change but you can upgrade the parts with higher level ones. As you level up you get skill points you can invest in how you want to play your ship. I like it just for the fact that you actually pilot your ship by sitting in the cockpit.

I'll continue to play only got about 30 hours played right now but it does feel like the population is very low and is pretty slow going leveling up.

No more repetitve than other games?  That seems kind of defensive, don't you think?

I just mean "content" in the most basic sense -

Equipment - do I ever get different ships to choose from, or just the same handful of parts to fit the same basic ship with?  Will there ever be multiple types of part, like different types of engine, or are they all just incremental upgrades?

Locations - After Spire, there just seems to be these two other stations to go to, and Pan's Junkyard.  Does the universe get much bigger as I progress?  Do environments vary much, do they ever effect gameplay, etc?

Mobs - Seems like I'm fighting the same enemies all the time.  Not just the same faction, but they seem to all be flying the same type of ship, too.  Does that get more varied in any way?

Also, just in a more general sense, does anything else open up at higher level, that isn't available at lv.8?  Just, I don't know, anything?  In most MMOs, you at least have a glimpse of what you can look forward to, but in this one, if there is anything else, any sort of carrots we're supposed to be chasing, they don't dangle it very well.  Just seems like there isn't anything to look forward to or strive for at all.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound defensive.. But no, I think BP so far has actually been less repetitive and monotonous than the standard MMO.

Equipment-  different equipment makes your ship look slightly different... you can dye it.. and if you look at the stats, equipment already has multiple types. You can completely customize the control of your ship.

Environments- Yes. There one open pvp zone.. I forget the name, but it has a giant star in it, and I found it difficult to see anything while directly facing that star. I couldn't hit anything, and I basically had to keep my back to that star. There's astroid fields and objects in space that you can use to your advantage.

Mobs- I dunno about  mobs skins, I never really paid attention... but I think the missions get more interesting as you level up.
