I like how the leveling in EQ2 and SWG incorporate more non-combat skills. The tradeskills are going to get totally cool. Now, I am a fiend for a good group kicking ass until there are no more NPC's around - but these new RPG's give the feeling of an even more free and non-linear world.
One thing I don't like doing is going around and taking pictures to make a story advance (Dark Cloud 2); and in one of the Final Fantasy games you had to dress like a woman to get some retarted item and that was GisAY
LOL If your talking about Final Fantasy 7 where you dress up like a woman to get into Don's Mansion (ok im a dork I haven't played FFVII in like 4 years) then your on crack lol!!! I thought that was halarious cause Cloud was made to be the manly hero forced to become a woman to save the big boobed girl. And if you got the right items Don picked you as his err... lucky man.

I think that levelling SHOULD be hard and long, at least in the upper-end of the spectrum. If levelling was easy, then there'd be no point in gawking at level 65's in EQ. You have to have some way of distinguishing between the normal and hardcore crazy gamer.
Ya, by making lvls easier it is good for normal players, but powergamers will hate it. Thus making it a lose lose situation. And I'm sure Sony will make the beginning easy as pie and progressively harder as lvls increase (obviously) This is the only way they won't lose too much money.
I believe that there was nothing wrong with the length of lvls in EQ, although 59 was a bitz before they fixed it =/ After I got through all the hell lvls THEN they fix them.

The leveling in EQ1, albeit slow wasn't so uber-terrible... it was the PENALTY for dying that kicked everyones arse. Sure it took 3+ hours to earn that xp... but one train, healer going LD, server lag, and blam all that xp or more's gone. Time to go get your body, and you get another train from the retard that's trying to get his corpse solo and ends up pulling from the bowels of hell every mob he can and it all aggro's on you, blam, more level loss. So say... 4-6 hours of xp'ing, and you lose twice as much as you gained that day, meaning you got a nice 12 hour time period to get back to where you were. THAT... is what killed EQ for me.
Make death penalties less painful than being raped by a hundred angry moose and there would be much rejoycing....

Err just one question.. is there anything else to do than leveling ? I mean can you ride on creatures and do PvP or craft and build houses ?? sorry but I'm a total EQ-n00b
There are horses in the game but from what ive heard are extremely expensive, i have not seen anyone riding one yet. Only the super rich can afford it i think.
Theres plenty of crafting to do from Jewellery, pottery, potions, armour and weapons you can even go fishing. No player owned houseing sadly.
Ahhh...ok thx .. and (sry 4 asking so much but as I said I'm a EQ n00b and i was thinking about buying EQ II) you said "There is PvP, also servers dedicated to PvP only." , and how is PvP if you are not on a PvPserver ?
You can still be a PK'er on the other servers, theres an option somewhere to turn it on (never PK'ed myself). You can also challenge anyone to a duel as long as they accept.
Hmm sounds good, but there's no RvR or such thing as PvP-Zones or somethin like that ? Because I've heared about choosing the dark or the light site or smthn.
