cool thanks, speaking of missions, are they differen't or all the same? i hope they don't feel repetitive after awhile. I hate that. on SWG all I could do is run out, grab a mission, and go blow or kill a certain number of things, it was boring as hell image and with WoW, all the missions felt the same, sure they had a semi-story behind each one, which i did enjoy, but i was either killing something, delivering something, or going somewhere - not exactly my idea of fun, especially for just a few pieces of gold...

Iron Mike well i got to tell you, Guild Wars isnt one of thoes totally open RPG where if you want to do you can do it but if you dont want to do it you dont need to do it. In Guild Wars it does follow a story plot, there are many outposts and in the outposts there are people who gives quests outs some of these quest you have to do but most of them you dont have to. However, in mission there is a certain outpost just made for the mission only. In that outpost you have to get a party and the party leader press enter mission. Once he press that you guys will go in the mission and do whatever you have to do. Plus the mission gives a good EXP 1,000 to be exact. and there also are bonus for each mission which gives an extra 1000 (however the bonus gets really hard towards the end) And sometime i got bored with the mission to tell you the truth because once i was done with one i went to the next outpost which said that i must complete another one. And i like to think of this game i mean how the whole join party and kill work as Diablo II expect think of the towns as B.net and think of getting a party joining a server in Diablo II (if you have played it). But i gotta tell you joining a Guild is the way and try to find a helpful and a active guild that can help you at most times and if you got question that you can ask. Plus you know the new guide that has came out for Guild Wars i was reading the guide (havnet bought it) but it does seem to be a really good one helping you through mission so it might let you go faster in the game. And all character has ups and downs and it is really balanced and you get to make your own unique character you will find out that your character is more unique then others and also the Primary Profession is very important also the secondary however you can change the secondary profession in the game (i do not recommand changing it, it might be waste of time) so enjoy the community is very helpfull well they have about 80% always answered my questions in towns. WEll later and enjoy.

lol thanks, sounds fun, i'm trying to get my good friend in on this as well, he's not too found of mmo's though, but i told him that this one is different, he's stayed away, mostly because of his internet connection, which is 56K, he lives back in the woods, so it's not that great, but me and him play Vice City Online together, and he doesn't lag that bad, he actually has fun, so maybe i can get him in on this as well, Thanks again.

Its not really an mmorpg. Devs of the game dont even consider it to be one. But i still highly suggest GW to anyone.

some of these peple are stupid.  I bought this game yesterday! It's very addiciting.  You dont even need to ask if this is the right choice.  If you want free online play with no monthly fee, then get Guild Wars, but if you have $15 a month to blow (i dont advise it) then get World Of Warcraft.  'Nuff said

image My experience with GW is very poor. I've played countless RPGs and MMORPG.

As a solo game, it's very restrictive...you will find your character not being able to move around a lot, you cannot jump, you can only move on pre-defined paths...good for a game made 10 years ago, really. The graphics are good...except when you look at other players, 'cause they look as if they are covered with the simplest of textures (probably a bug). Furthermore, the first part of the game is nice, the second part, the ruined city, it's so and so.

Even if GW states to have 1000 skills, 900 are surely unecessarily reduntant. My lvl 10 Warrior/Monk had many reduntant skills, and from the 50+ skills i had, only about 5-6 were any useful.

It's Cooperative Game as long as you don't use computer controlled henchmens, and very few missions don't allow u to use them.

In conclusion, buy it if you are a new gamer and don't expect much from games. But for hardcore gamers this is an absolute AVOID.  I would give it 4/10 image

Once again, a critical post from someone who hasn't played the game long enough to know what the hell they are talking about. There are very few 'useless' skills, just ones that aren't apparently useful when you first get them. There is also the fact that many skills are designed for 'team builds' where they complement other character builds. PvE skill builds are also very different from PvP builds, and the skill set reflects this.

As for post-searing ascalon, that only lasts till you reach the shiverpeak mountains, and after them you reach some stunning landscapes. Post-searing ascalon is 4 missions out of 35 odd. The textures for other characters in towns is reduced to minimise lag. Once you enter a mission/EA instanced area everyone's armour is full res.

    ---sig---

PvE in general is pretty lame, if you think long and hard about it. You are spending your time beating a severely gimped AI that would lose to a well trained monkey. Best not to think too long and hard why you are wasting time playing games in general actually...

This game is great, got it yesterday, can't stay away from it! it is always moving you in a direction, but i like that direction, i love story lines. I'm 25 pages into the book it gave me, it's actually a pretty good read. This game is DEEP, if you like Dungeons and Dragons, this game will blow you away. I had my doubts when buying, but i think it's defiently worth $50. I haven't noticed any Lag what-so-ever even in the most populated capitals and towns. The community is rather friendly, i have noticed any annoyance's yet. This is a worthy game! ::::08::
