Perfect World Entertainment has announced that the closed beta for Rusty Hearts has officially commenced. According to the dev team, within a few hours of the start of the closed beta, servers were packed to the rafters 'forcing' the team to scale up the server capacity.

During the closed beta period, players will be immediately ushered into an epic battle against an army of vampires and monsters. Players will also get to explore content up to level twenty, immerse themselves in two of the game world hubs, raid dungeons in parties of up to four players, and collect over 3,500 rare items and unique loot from hundreds of quests. Once players progress their favorite character to level ten, they are free to engage in five epic PvP modes.

To celebrate the launch of closed beta, all players that log into Rusty Hearts any time before August 3 will automatically be entered into a giveaway to win one of two Astro A40 headsets and backpacks, customized exclusively for Rusty Hearts.

Another MMO where you pick a premade character, but with even less customization than Vindictus.  And by less, I mean, none.  Other than naming the character - which it calls an "alias," because the characters you pick already have names.  Somehow, I don't see this trend doing so well in the west.

    When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

like the art style and the cutscenes.

Hm, the art style was nice, cutscenes were nice, and character customization didn't even bother me. There are costumes for that. What really bothered me was that, as good as the fighting was at first, all you really need to succeed in this game is a vamp and some well timed teleporting skills. The dungeons were a neat idea, but it feels like you're playing the same dungeon over and over again with a different skin. Bosses were pretty good, especially the two final ones, but all in all, it was just like any other click-addict game on the market.

Terrible as an mmo. Its looks and feels good as a single player dungeon slasher 'Devil May Cry" clone. This is NOT a PC game! It's a console single player game that was hastily transformed into a multiplayer supported by PC, Nothing here actually....VINDICTUS is wayyy better as a game AND as an MMO.And i didn;t even like VINDICTUS.....go figure

forced to play this since Dragon Nest isn't available for Europe yet.

Only did PVE so far so no comments on PVP.

Dungeons seemed a bit too boring, not much diversity except the bosses.

Poor customisation, there is some, but most will be for the CashShop anyways.

All in all, a good hack and slash untill you find another game (DragonNest, Tera, Vindictus EU,...)

+1 on this comment. How is this really a mmo? Veru boring very quickly, same dungeon, dfifrerent colors. Nice concept though, I'll give it that. Should have been on a console, crappy PC keyboard settings that you can't really even change and if you do the buttons won't do the required actions you set them to do. If I want to be forced to use a gamepad, I'll play my Xbox360.

They pay top dollar for advertisements here, so it considered an mmo..?

Multiple players, persistent world.  Yep, it qualifies.  Barely.

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.

Same here. A new definition of boring.

This game will be the typical clichê: "Haters gonna hate."

You have none customization, because you play with character that already has a history. A past.

People who can't play without customization, anre unable to play this game.

I like customizations too, but the game isn't bad because of this.

    Think this way:

This game is like Fullmetal Alchemist games for PS2, but online with other players like you but much more hack'n'slash.

    Don't like, don't play.

I think Rusty Hearts is a great title. It have bad things, like any other mmo.

But play for fun. Play seeing the good side of the coin. (Or go play other game. Simple.)

It show how the PW Entertainament are growing, and how they have the feeling to bring fun to us.

Liked shell shading graphics in this game, it's fun to play with friends but might get boring fast solo.
