I would easy say Final fantasy XI of you have alot of time to spend on your gaming! Starwars Galaxies got boring after the new combat system but can be better for casual players. image

I play both so It is a little harder to choose, but here are the good sides and the down sides of both games. i cant choose which one is better (each one is just as good in my opinion)image

    SWG-Good points

*LOTS of free space to move around in
    *Large variety of enemies
    *Thousands of quests to do
*The ability to place anybuild of choice anywhere
    *Running Guilds and Cities
    *Battles bettween Rebel and Imperial
*Flying, managing, fighting in your own star ship
*owning your own house outside of npc cities
    *Land speeders

    FFX1-Good Points

*Owning your own appartment in npc towns
    *Running a Linkshell (group chat)
*Large variety of different lvls of monsters
*Large varieties of areas to go to
    *Thousands of quests to do
*Most people on the game are very friendly and will help out most of the time(well from my point of view)
*You dont get stuck on a desert planet that has absolutely no water (tatooine) when you start out! image
    *Chocobos!image

    SWG-Down Sides

*Recent patches to game messes up game play for short time (unlike right now, where my right and left keys still dont go right and left! image
*CSRs suck at returning e-mails (i sent about 10 e-mails to the CSRs that i need help with something......i still hadnt gotten a reply and i sent the 1st one in in january) image
    *limited lvls of monsters
unable to live and or build in or near npc cities
*you start out on tatooine (better hope some one is giving away money to get of the planet) (but sometimes you get a choice where you start)(i got stuck on tatooine.......for 2 weeks!!!)
*missions usualy have someone there already and you have to wait in line(if you have to kill the npc to complete the mission, or people keep killing him/her)
*you missed the combat upgrade(which made it easier to lvl up)
*not as many docs to buff
*people shun you most of the time

    FFX1-down sides

    *limited types of monsters
*limited places to build your home
*you are slow and not capable of walking/running to the nearest town
*no pc vs pc large scale battles
*unable to go to other major towns until you are a higher lvl
*higher lvl monsters are usualy right next to where your lvl of monsters are(result- image)
*large amounts of people at the AH cause laging even for REALLY good computers

Both games are really good but i would get FFX1 at the moment ........SWG has some problems, but if you dont beleave me read the forums for SWG and FFX1

Ive not played SWG but from what i hear it's alot more casual.

I played FFXI for about a year and a half. Some people love it and some dont. Its one of those either love it or hate it games.  And it takes ALOT of time to do ANYTHING in this game.

Everyone says that FF is not a very restrictive game, which is true, it's the community that are restrictive.  Not everyone is that bad mind you, but put it this way, After lvl 10 you can forget about soloing unless your a BST. The game forces you to party.  Okay no biggie, until you get to the dunes and realize that your not an In-demand-job (read WHM).  I like the idea of subjobs, but if you want to try something new as far as job/SJ combo, you can forget it, you'll never get an invite.

And thats just what class your playing, not too mention what your wearing. After about lvl 30, if you dont have top of the line, million gil gear, guess what, no invites. no invites=no pt=0exp.

The sad thing is that this game is so massive, open, and limitless, but the players in it are just so anal.

    Dunes-10-20 qufim 20-27 yuhtunga 27-30 yohator 30-34 garliage/cn 34-40 etc etc

Whens the last time you saw someone party in jugner forest? or Meriphauted Mountains?

Some of the best exp i had in the low 30's was in Batallia downs. Noone ever pt's there. /cry

thats why I left. If you really want to see what the player community is like visit ffxi.allakhazam.com and browse the forums.

SWG is not that great...O.o; I like FFXi but it can get so boring with the leveling. I would say FFXI vs. WoW would be a more equal match. How many people actually play SWG here? I don't know many people personally, everyone is on FFXI, WoW or RO. :(

ffxi or swg, well.. i still play swg, the cu really messed the game up, but unlike ffxi, swg isnt just about combat, character creation is the first big thing, instead of 8 faces and 2 hair colours - your choices in ffxi, you have the ability to morph the face/body into pretty much whatever you want, graphically swg is far superior to ffxi, and game play is easier, although both games penalise you for not grouping if you are a combat class. also the player base economy of swg is more developed than in ffxi, and probably not as expensive either, money in swg is easier to come by, and you can earn money straight away, its not really fair to compare the 2 games though, as one is a fantasy game, and the other is sci fi, not everyone who likes fantasy genre games will be interested in a sci fi one, and vice versa,  at the moment swg is still in the process of evolving, whether it survives this particular evolution is not all that clear at the moment, whereas ffxi appears to be more 'stable' image

if graphics win games for you that sad. Well other then that i would say FFXI lvling up in that game isnt really fun, but i thought SWG was even worse i love being a artisan nothing lvled got good experience then ok ive lvled that thing up 2 times and a crapload of experience and woohoo i still get as much exp when i didnt have anything that yea that sucked. FFXI forces you to party but hey you meet people in that which can make a friendly community.

Anyway about those graphics again the makers of the game said screw Windrust lets make it look liek crap compared to Sandy................... Graphics don't make a game but World of Warcraft looks good better then SWG by that matter. Ive seen the waterfall in Naboo that you can see the doodad purple thing behind it.....its kind of sad
