Looking for a new MMO to play and im wondering if this or vindictus is any good.
A huge no go for me and i mean HUGE, is whether or not these games take actual Cash to play and succeed.
pay to win games can kiss my ass and die.
So is this a pay to win type of game? i dont mind spending some money on a game that i enjoy but i hate being forced to pay in order to be a good player.
thanks for your feedback

Vindictus definitely isn't pay to win. Most of the cash shop is cosmetic only, it's a cooperative PVE game, the non-vanity stuff is just xp boosters (which surprisngly aren't necessary) and hp potions. As far as fun for a heavily instanced dungeon based game I found it much more enjoyable than Dragon's Nest. The source engine looks and runs a whole lot better too.
vindictus u only things in cash shop are fluff items and stuff like xp pots and such u dont have to spend a dime if u dont want to.
dont know about dragon nest if its gonna have anything that would be mandatory.
dragon nest not sure but it plays kinda like vindictus so i would go with both realy
Dragon Nest is pretty fun in a Diablo action game type of way.
Vindictus seems a bit more hardcore. Also the art styles are completely different.
Regarding the cash shop, I can't comment on Dragon Nest since I haven't even looked at the shop but Vindictus is mostly just underwear or cosmetic changes. Nothing game breaking that I have seen in the shop.
i also heard that in Vindictus you cant play for very long as you need "coins" to pay for instances to do the missions and you only get a certain amount of free coins per day..is this true?

I was lucky enough to get into the closed beta for vindictus and i have to admit, i found it to be a pretty fun game. It does get repetitive after a while, so im not sure i would recommend playing it hardcore. But It is a damn fun game and the level of violence you can dish out in this game is just amazing. The combat gameplay is VERY satisfying and visceral. The sound is also pretty good which help really drive it home when you take a mob and stomp it into a wall (leaving a nice sized hole in it). You not only see the mob leave a blood stain, you also hear a very distinct cracking of bones noise. Also the destructible environments are defintely win. Especially since you can use anything you come across in the environment as a weapon. I would defintly recommend this game to anyone as possibly the best F2P on the market.
Vindictus isn't pay2win at the beginning. Right now it's a bit pay2win, as enhanced weapons do cost quite a bit, and unless you were playing since beta, you probably won't have the funds to buy them without resorting to paying NX or hacking.
However, current news from Korea really makes it seem like the game direction will change to pay2win, which is causing a pretty big uproar in both the Korean and American communities.
As the above stated: there are hacks.
As in, one-hit KO hacks, godmode hacks, level skip hacks, etc.
In other words: don't bother.
Dragon Nest is ok. But imo, the camera and targeting is much tigher in Vindictus. I play these types of games with a pad and setting up Dragon Age is kind of a pita with a pad unless youre using a 360 controller. Every change or tweak you make to your controls, you have to reload the game for it to apply. It makes for a fine tuning nightmare.
So can someone tell me. End game in dragon nest does it require me to pay a lot of real money for good gear?
and if i dont i will suck or get crushed in pvp?

No you dont have to pay anything.
PvE-wise getting better gear does help, but if you are skilled enough(ie:dodging, not spamming skills, etc) then you can beat pretty much anything without super epic omg gear. You can even get pretty darn good gear for almost nothing, and it will be quite sufficient for PVE; at least with my experiences thus far with NA OBT being my only source, and from more experienced players from other versions, it looks to be this way in higher levels as well.
For PvP, I hear gear makes no difference as the arena that you go into basically ignores whatever you have on to make it a balanced fight where it comes down to player skill. There is also special PvP gear that you can obtain once you have won enough matches or played enough matches which I assume you equip in the arena. Don't know about the stats or how that set effects the PvP though, but I assume its more like a costume of some sort.
Honestly if you guys don't like the PvE that much, I suggest you wait and try the PvP out at least before making your final decision if your interested in PvP at all.
no pvp in vindictus
