I posted a message on the Warcraft forums about how I couldn't finish a simple quest for a week because every day when I went back, there was always lots of higher level people farming everything.
Then I found a news story that WoW is about to announce that they have over 2 million subscribers. So I went back to add that news to my post, but before I could type it in, the WoW forum admins deleted my original post!
There was nothing offensive in it. Apparently, I cannot complete the quest for the same reason they deleted my post--WoW is flushed with success, the servers are overcrowded and the company is rude to their customers.
It's ironic that I quit EQ2 to come to WoW because in EQ2 I couldn't find people to help me finish quests; now in WoW it's an overpopulation problem. Are there any games that aren't over- or under-populated?? That's it for me in WoW. The game isn't so great that it can overcome rude customer support.

It's sad that you couldn't find people in EQ2 to help you finish quests, did you really try hard? I found EQ2 people to be helpful to a fault.
As for WoW, what quest was it? Gimme as much info as you can if you truly want help, I will help you finish it. Unless your just here to moan.
Plus maybe your post got deleted by accident? I see no reason why WoW forum admins would delete a simple request for clarification on a quest, unless you were swearing your sack off.
Have you considered Star Wars Galaxies? They lost so many people, but ever since they revamped the entire game and balanced the combat system, it's a lot better. I have yet to re-subscribe myself the day I'm really fed up with WoW, but I've seen my friend played it countless times when I go over to his place, and well... it's good enough. It wasn't over-crowded, and it wasn't dead like it was before the Rage of the Wookies expansion.

It's okay. You're not alone. I feel the same way. I used to love Blizzard and their games but now I don't look at them the same way as I used to.
I play EQ2 also and it seems lately the population is growing. It's a solid game. What I mean is I think it's going to be around and be fun well past the time that WoW's polish has worn off, if it hasn't already. And the community in EQ2 blows WoW away. I can understand the EQ2 players when they type things in the little chat window. They're actually well spelled out words with thought behind the statements their making. Hehehe.
I would suggest trying EQ2 again. I play it every night and still have fun. And I started playing both of the games when they came out at around the same time last year. The adventure packs are pretty cool to hold you over until the next expansion and I find myself overwhelmed at how well thought out the game actually is.
Oh well, hopefully you'll find a fun way to pass your free time. Goodluck.
If I were them, I'd be deleting posts too. Their general forum is out of control with duplicate posts and by the time you click post on a message it first appears on the 2nd page. It's utterly ridiculous.
Best thing is, don't take what they do personally. Submit the bug report in-game, the forums are bad and nothing would get resolved anyway.
I'm not making excuses for them, it's really just a harsh reality.
I find it hilarious that someone posts a message in the general forum, for example about in-game water. How it is bad or good or how it could be changed. Within 1 hour there are 6-10 seperate threads regarding... you guessed it, water. For some reason everyone thinks their topic deserves a new thread, when in fact it's just a part of an existing thread. Todays teens scare me, lol.
What was the name of the quest?
ROFL, I never realised Bliz hired telepaths as forum modes. They deleted your post before you could type it?
On a serious note, you most likely did not post that message, either timed out, or you went into preview and no actual post, or your post did contain offensive material. I dont believe mod would go into mindless rampage deleting posts on random. It is also hardly belieavable that you couldnt complete a quest for a week. There isnt much farming going on outside dungeons - dungeons have best loot. Post your quest and we will try to help u.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

Mob respawn in WoW is incredibly fast, so even if others are after the same mob or types, should not be a long wait. You can also ask to group up with others who are working on the same quest since most quest drops are duplicated in order to provide each group member with a copy.
Unlike EQ2, groups are easy to find in WoW and even soloers such as myself prefer grouping rather than waiting for respawns. I find myself grouping more in WoW than any previous game, and enjoying it.

Thanks for all the comments.
The quest I was trying to do was in Duskwood zone, and all I had to do was kill 15 skelle horrors and 15 skelle fiends. There were tons of horrors, but only a few fiends. The problem was, there was always many groups and soloers running around in circles, killing every skelle in sight. I logged in every day this week, and I was only able to get 5/15 fiends.
I was on Dragonblight server, but I already cancelled my membership and wiped the game from my hard disk so thanks for the offers of help, but I'm moving to something else. This wasn't the first time I had encountered farmers. It happened all the time to me in WoW. I always just left and tried something else, but this time I decided to finish the damn quest "or else". Well, I guess it was "or else" this time. It was a lot like my last week in EQ2. Only there, I was trying to find help doing a quest. I could not find anyone to help in a zone for a whole week, and that was it for me in EQ2.
Maybe I am just not MMO material. When I keep having to say over and over: "It doesn't matter that I cannot finish this quest." or "It's okay that high level people are farming what I need.", then it wears on me. Eventually, I am determined to accomplish some simple thing, but after a week or so of failure, I just give up. It's not worth it.
And by the way, I did play SWG before. I left because my friends left. I think the real problem with SWG was that it's really a PvP game. The PvE is just animals roaming around. I never saw any zones with as much design as the old Crushbone zone in EQLive. Shame because I really liked many aspect of SWG.
Maybe I should give EQ2 another look. I'm sure they've changed a lot. If they could just get a couple hundred thousand people to migrate from WoW to EQ2.
