Do you think Female ingame characters get hitted on to much?

Okay I was playing this MMORPG and I notice that lots of the female characters get hitted on alot but its even more funnier when the female character is really a guy in disguise or just a guy that likes the female characters.
So I wanted to experiment and so I played a female character and I was getting hitted on and offered free items which was pretty funny but when I told them I was a guy they felt pretty stupid and wanted there stuff back hahaha so in your guys's opinion do you think its funny when a male character hits on a female character when the female character is actualy a guy?!?! haha cause I DO!!!

most players who hit on female characters are either hyper-hormone teens or sad old nerds.
Hitting on girls online is like a box of chocolates filled with guys, you never know what your gonna get and it's probably gonna be a guy.
I have a quite ignorant view I suppose on this subject. These are role playing games right? So I figure people are gonna make the character they wanna be. I usually pick a warrior whos big and strong: while I am 6' 3" in real life, I can't go around killing people and wouldn't want to (mostly
) but in game I can do that and it's what I like to be.
I figure guys who play female characters want to be girls. I have never made a female character because I don't wanna be a girl. But lots of guys make girl characters and say "I'd rather stare at my female toon for hours no end than a guy one." That is fairly valid I suppose, although if I wanna stare at a girl I have my gf and plus real life girls are always gonna look better.
I used to say "If you make a girl toon, you're gay!" That's a little too ignorant for me as I suppose I have reluctantly grown up over the years. Now I say "If you make a girl toon, you wanna be a girl."
Still ignorant, but hey, I'm evolving slowly.
Actually there is no way to tell if someone is gay or not. There is only 2 ways and none can be done over the computer or in a video game. Technically only 1 way LOL.
Some make female characters because they really are into role-playing. Some to check out other features (how items look, and yes, to have fun staring at a female avatar). Some like the screams a female character makes. Some like how much easier it is to take advantage of other players (recieving free items, having an easier time killing other players who hesitate to kill a female character, etc....). And some for strategic reasons (for example in many FPS games, female characters are much smaller, thus harder to aim at and hit.) (And again, in PvP many opponets hesitate to attack a female looking character.)
I make Female characters cause they look sexy and have nice clothes for Eg. SWG
I don't like the look of Male characters in games apart from WOW has better male characters.
I get hit on for having a female character and im male so i'll say yes it's annoying!
Just tell them your a lesbain.

Actually I haven't seen that much, I think most people know better by now.
But I do notice in general players seem to be nicer to female characters.

i create female charectors because in most games female charectors look better then male and dont forget its RPG meaning role playing games.... plus i rather look at a female char all day rather then male plus sometimes u get free stuff adn more likely to get a party or get into a guild
and yeah ppl do hit on you but sometimes its funny when u hit on someone and then say u want to meet in real life by saying u live in the same place and and then saying your a homo or something or maybe a transvestite lol but anyway thats just ways to stop a person from hitting on you
I've never talked to a female character in a hitting-on way unless it was a joke. In fact, females were always talking to me in WoW when I was leveling up my undead, I met like 5 girls and I didnt start the conversation. They dont hit on me, they just partied and stuff and we leveled up together.

*shrug* Earring a girl humping me all day long each time I hit space bar is much better then earring some male voice!
Beside, if all women who play would be grown up women, I would not mind, but they are often youngsters, and I rather see a weirdo trying to be hitting on me then on those little girls.
Personnally, I think it is the guy who is playing a male toon who is jumping a lot around who happen to be gay!

Most players dont ''hit on girls'', but a few do...When the ''toon is level MAXIMUM'' and have an earry glowing aura, they stop hitting on you however!
Guys assume RL girls will be ''Level noobs'', so if a gal have problems playing a gal toon but would want to, just level up fast and be somewhat of a jerk here and there(with worst folks of course) and they usually label you as male. Also, 1 time in your career, enter ''MALE'' on your guild website or something, and then say you just make a mistake...and the lame folks will not be hitting on you...especially if your hotmail address is something like Ronald@hotmail.com :P Or another male name(you can say you use dad's hotmail, or BF). Alternatively if you like lying, say ''bio break'' and get a cola and be back in 20 seconds, you will hear ''manginas'' and they wont be hitting on you, well they may hate you, but they wont be as bad... But grown up women dont mind that much if some weirdos are trying to hit on them, it make them laugh a good time...
Alternatively, playing the other sex is a sure way to find any ''hitting offer'' sound completely hilarious and not serious, see, if you play the other sex, anyone making you offers is beside the mark before they even start.
I remember once, a woman was playing a male toon and was systematically trying to be hitting on any female toon, that was funny. She was prolly exteriorising some frustrations at the males in general by behaving so.
In fact, a study would be in order...who is the average guy hitting on women online. Nerds? Teens? Women pretending they are males? I really dunno, but such a study would be fun and maybe it would reveal info we didnt think off first. What if the guy who is hitting on gals was actually a woman?

All of my Female friends that play MMORPGs in general do NOT play a female character, they prefer to play male characters because that way they do not get annoyed by the "hormonuous" behaviors of others. So basicly you'll find more female gamers playing male characters then female characters.
Some males play female characters for the attention and special threatement they get. Which in my opinion is kind of sad.
It's crazy how much a female character gets hit on! It almost borders on harrassment. It's even worse if they know you are a female IRL! It's out of hand, but I still find it funny.
As another said, I know women (yes, they do really play videogames!) who play male characters exclusively because they can't stand the garbage they put up with as a female character. I played a female character on several occasions because I didn't believe it could be that bad. Innevitably, the question would appear "so, are you really a girl?" and I would answer yes. It all went downhill from there, I'm afraid.
Funny . . . I never hit on or treated a female toon any different from a male one. They all get the same treatment. The only female toons I hit on is the toons of my 2 friends (both females and members of this site), and my ex-girlfriend. We exchange stuff . . .and crap like that.
Hey if you get turned down in anything by a female toon, chances are it might be a actual female. If you think about it, isn't that a part of roleplaying?
Besides if you guys didn't know, most females like being male toons too.

Well speaking as a RL female, I can say I have met all kinds of attitudes.
I get hit on a lot but I just ignore it and dont react to it and it usually stops.
If it keeps up I tell them my age and (over 40) and that usually stops it
Also I have been hit on by female avatars. Some are male and some that say they are female.
Also I have a hard time convincing other players that I am really female.
I guess most guys still dont think RL females play mmo's. However we are there.
As was said before a lot of females play male characters just to keep it simple.
Support Bacteria, its the only culture some people have.
You know ma'am, I never knew femals still played videogames around that elderly age (I know my dad is somewhere around that age and he owns the Xbox)....well, my mom is around your age (i think) and she sticks to Ms. Pac Man....so i guess that counts.

ur actually a guy too arent u *sigh* anyway. Ive made a female character once and yeah i admit its cuz i wanted to look at her, but as soon as i figured out people are gonna think im actually a girl i gave up. But i still hit on girl characters, not seriously, not like ill give them items, but i hit on them anyway cuz its funny. Tell me u dont enjoy to watch some girl deny some guy OVER THE INTERNET!

Yeah Im a guy but there are two important things you should know...
1. IM JOKING!!!
2. I ALWAYS play female characters.... (in EQ2 I was a female Ratonga LOL)
I know there are lots of reasons put forward by homophobic males with no imagination about why or how a guy could possibly play a female without being gay, deranged or somehow mentally retarded, but my reasons are quite simple.
1. I much prefer to look at a female toon (even a rat)
2. I prefer the roleplaying challenge presented by a female (and I always RP)
3. I DO NOT see my toon as an extension of my RL personality like most guys do ("look Im Arragorn, finally I have escaped my Moms basement" *sigh*)
4. I love playing a weak looking female and kicking wannabe Arragorn's butts in PvP
5. because of the very real truth of your thread... I get hit on and get given lots of free stuff... after which I tell them Im really a guy and laugh while they puke and go have a shower from how dirty they feel.
Overall its a lot more entertaining and because of all of the above I dont hit on females in MMO's because I know most of them are guys like me
BTW.... Im 40 y/o next year... so Im not turned off by age either
