Alright I'm tired of missing the old EQ and VG feel... anybody want to come back with me and have some fun?
I have a 43 cleric on Seradon, but I will most likely reroll and play both. I would love to have some company! I was in The Platinum Order, but I'm not sure if it still has an active memberbase, so I will be looking for a guild most likely as well.

Good luck. VG isn't even supported anymore, they neglected that game left it go for couple years without patches or updates. The playerbase is only got players who are hardcore to VG. I doubt you will find new players to join you, perhaps if you log in and find some players who might want to join you is best way to go.
I just don't get why you would talk about something you don't pay attention to? I'm not saying vanguard has a massive playerbase etc, but don't just write what you think is going on and base it off as facts. Yes its been a while since the last patch, but not a couple of years, I'm not a hardcore vg player, but I play sometimes, and I have friends who are not hardcore either who plays(whatever that means - hardcore) And yes more updates are coming, they just said so.
You probably didn't mean it like that, but its slightly annoying when people try to put their opinions and thoughts as facts. But yes, best bet is to find people ingame to play with. But ever so often there comes these threads in here, people wanting to play, or return, and are looking for friends.
I'm not looking for an argument but assumptions? No it was fact, it's been actually over 2yrs since last patch for Vanguard that resulted in actual content. Last patch was in 2009 Dec that did not have any content added but was small fix and holiday content. The patch you go back to that had real fixes and minor changes that made things better was in Nov. 2009 and even then it wasn't content based.
So no assumptions it is fact. Fact is the servers are dead, only those who are loyal to the IP of Vanguard stayed, and that is what I meant by hardcore here, the people who stayed with it. Vanguard isn't hanging on by numbers, it is part of the stupid failing station access. I wouldn't give it much longer before they get into the red and are unable to keep these games on their list.
Also they have said many times on the threads Vanguard has limited support and we have 1 developer who comes over once a month to fix things if anything breaks, which has not broken since Jan. 2010 with the last hotfix. So it goes to show just how much these titles are failing that they took in. SOE has several including POTBS just as bad as this.
Well, I'm new to Vanguard and I'm liking it. The Isle of Dawn has been relatively packed - I've talked to many new players as well as returning players there, and we've all been pretty impressed with what we've seen.
As far as support goes, in the last couple of weeks SOE has stated multiple times that VG is going to get some love. Apparently two content updates are in the works and will be released in the near future.
I'm not sure. I still remember the Vanguard Collector's Edition Box that I had but only played the game sporadically because of all of the bugs. It would be hard for me to believe that the game has improved much since they have given the game relatively little attention although the game did have a lot of potential. I think it would be a much more successful game if it went Free to Play.

As I'm patiently waiting for the release of GW2 to come out, I feel I'm in a slump for current games. Anyways, I play lotro very casually and just installed VG yesterday.
Havn't even created my character yet but Im thinking a Dark Elf, just not sure on what Race!? Ideas?

Some of you may have heard rumors that new content is coming to Vanguard. Some of you may have heard that there are in fact two updates planned this fiscal year. Some of you may not believe.

Massively’s Karen Bryan interviewed Salim “Silius” Grant at the SOE Fan Faire 2011 in Las Vegas. They briefly chatted about future game updates to the world of Telon.
While not a lot of details were shared, Grant did confirm that two updates will be coming to the game within the fiscal year. Grant also said that free-to-play is not currently a part of the plan at this time.

As far as the op, I'm still playing Vanguard, albeit casually. I have been fooling around with alts but have a dread night in the early 20's. If i'm on look under name of "Sovrath" for any help with stuff. I currently belong to the twylight song guild which seems like a really nice group of players.

I am lvling a Ranger on the Isle now. Seeing alot more people than I have in my past trips to it. Looks like the announcement that they are actually going to support the game has given it a little jolt.
I just came back as well. Started a cleric..Alveran. Thinking about making a tank though i'm not sure. Really enjoying the game again.
