Next FFXI Xpac?

in Final Fantasy XI

Anyone have any info about the next FFXI xpac? CoP was a total mess because it didn't introduce anything new except landscape. However, I read something that said that the next FFXI xpac would introduce permanent chocobos, a new level cap and new jobs and races. I believe I read it in a gaming magazine a few months after CoP. Any ideas?

    imageYea, CoP was a bit of a let down. No new jobs or lvl cap, but I did love the story line. And wow what I would do to have a permanant chcoc ( this prob won't happen though, too much of a change.).

    Ok so yeah, if there was permenent chocobo, they would be other 2.5 million gil or like a quest that is like 18 level 80's (supposed level cap) new areas, jobs and even the permenent choc i can believe but in no way would i believe they would add in a new race.

    think what ffxi could really do with, is similar to something that they did in everquest some time ago, an expansion that actually revamped the entire game, the luclin expansion enhanced the graphics and everything, which is what ffxi needs at the moment, increased character variation, players will always want the ability to create something original, or at least have the option of not looking like just about every other character of the same race out there. improved wilderness graphics, if the graphics werent so dated then probably more people would enjoy playing - ability to customise the keyboard too wouldnt go amiss, the present control system seems to have ignored about 10 years of gaming evolution. image

    I think it would be great if they added some way to make sidebars or something to make accessing spells and abilities ezier. Also, they should either make the game for solo friendly or make it ezier to find parties, cause I think you spend too much time in the game sitting around waiting for party invites or party members to be found or to arrive.

    At the very least they should add Armor dyes like EQ did, and add about 8 new face and hair style options. They also should allow people about 6 different hair color choices, not two.
