    I am. Its alright. Its not the best by far, but its a nice little game that many people enjoy. Im currently only playing becuase I like the community. I made a lot of friends here fast in game. The story is alright, but at least they have it.

    I played the beta, and wasn't satisfied.  I moved on to WoW, and it's way better.

    played beta longer than I have played release - and I quit twice already - lol!

    I was brought into beta in the very first round (does it matter ?), anyways, I supported and supported and then supported some more, I held player events and helped in setting up many upon many more, I stuck through all the beta bad stuff which is expected of course, pre-ordered the retail game and never lost hope through both push backs.

    When release actually came through, I lasted no longer then a little over 30 days, even though I had paid for 3 months. The development team completely ditched everyone that had made the community what it was, the game performance became so ugly it was like being back in the beta test phase of august 2004, the forums got way out of hand, they started banning original beta people for saying as much on their own fan pages. I mean the whole thing was a complete mess and as far as i'm concerened, you don't do that to people that got your game to where it is.

    Anyways, a reasounding HELL NO from me, as well as a good 50 people that I know of for sure that were there from the start. Because of it, MxO will never amount to anything other then a second rate filler game for most people.

    I played and enjoyed the beta for MxO. Retail wasn't really ready to ship and should have been held off till after E3. But then again even if they did show it at E3 2005 it wouldn't have been up to par facing off against to newer games.

    Retail MxO == P2P Beta.

    I played Beta starting in January, and all i can say is that beta was awesome. It was a great game, and i dont know what you guys are talking about. I then bought the retail in April and i'm still playing. It gets boring at times, but i'm in an awesome faction, so they make it fun.

    I was in beta.  I am now playing because SOE bought the game.

    Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.

    I was in the early closed beta. Then they did a combat revamp type thing, it totally ruined it for me.

    I played the Beta, and I loved it. I'm a big Matrix fan and maybe that is why I love the game so much... But the Beta enden, and I never got the game (stupid EBgames). now I'm short of money and therefore cannot buy the game or be able to pay the monthly fee... but as soon as I'm able to, I will. I like the story in the game, and the way they run it, and I know from people playing other games (WoW and such) that that is what they miss in the MMO they're currently playing.

    I'm  a Roleplayer and that means a lot of bonuses when it comes to MxO. so many people are RP, I've never seen anything like it before. theres allways something going on... I never made it further than lvl 20 in the Beta, cause I was never fighting, just RP.

    now I don't know about the games right now, but the Beta days were happy days.

    I miss MxO

    I wasn't in beta and probably would never have bought this game because no way was I going to try it as my primary MMO (which is the only way I'll sink $15 bucks a month on an MMO) but now that SOE has it once it's on the Access Pass I'll probably pick it up when the box price drops and/or they offer a download version for like $20 or so.

    No way I would have played it before... now I might try it out just to see what its like.

    Currently Playing: Dungeons and Dragons Online.

    I played the BETA during the mid and end stages.  There were alot of issues with lag, memory leaks, and quite a lack of gameplay options.  But since release they seem to have been working harder to fix things and add alot of content.  I especially think that with Sony taking over the game it will accelerate the development.  The content is decent, and the gameplay itself is unique and pretty damn cool.  It's worth a try at least, and a sure thing for fun if you already have a station access subscription.

    Do I count if I just barely left a week ago?
    Though I had other reasons, the latest letter form The Producer gave me haunting premontions of "Combat Upgrade" -- so with that and the merging of my primary server with two servers' worth of dingbats..... I'm not sure I made a bad move.

    Still...

    I miss MxO
    So very true.
    I still open the launcher and log in with a fake password just to hear the typing beeps (much as I did that week between beta and release ::::39::). It helps with the withdrawal sypmtoms ::::35::

    Qwirk, were you on method linenoise or enumerator?

    image

  • QwirkQwirk Member Posts: 136

    Actually, nearly all of them (well it certainly seemed like those femal clothing drops outdid the male ones, so I had to compare. Plus I couldn't afford pursuing all the trees I was interested in with one character).

    Adric=Method
    Orac=Linenoise
    Hoenir=Enumerator
    Qwirk=Proxy
    Seshat=Regression
    Romana=Iterator
    [momentarily forgotten]=Hueristic

    And I want to clarify "two servers' worth of dingbats"
    Every server had enough dingbats to begin with, no one wants more.
    Even with two servers' worth of good people merging in, the thought of 3 times as many spammers and area effects during Events is not a pretty one.

    Adric was mostly for parties, Orac had a nice backstory and RP path planned out, Hoenir was a brute-force Scattershot, and I made the most friends on Proxy. Sad to see the old server names go, but if it does breathe new life into the game then I can't hate it can I? ::::39::

    I played beta on into release but the community seemed to dissapate after release and I quickly tired of it, so I quit. After hearing of the server merger, I figured I'd head on back, besides I had missed MxO dearly, so I'm enjoying it once again.

    I played the last month of the beta bought the preplay copy and so on. But the demands on the computer and the lag of the game is what turned me off. I could barely log on and i have cable connection. I hear of all the bad things about the game so i wont be joining soon but as soon as I see improvement and actually something that catches my eye about the game i will be back. I love the Matrix story and the concept of logging into the matrix everyday makes me drool but this game does not give justice to the movies and the story of the matrix. It should have been released with a hell of a lot more content and a lot less bugs. Also i believe the ability to fight in the "real world" which i thought would have been a blast to jump into a mech thing and attack incoming machines. I just dont understandimage, they ruined such a good idea.
