I think it would be pretty epic to just be able to play what ive seen so far. <crosses fingers>

More in spirit with the thread though, I think it would be pretty epic if housing was added beyond the ship you get.

Housing adds so much to a games replay value. It attaches you with a place of your own and gives you something to do besides grind for more gear.It also makes crafting that much more important and puts more items in the crafting chain.

I hope there is more customization than I am expecting added into the game later.I guess it will be kinds sparse compared to an older game at launch.I hope SW:TOR grows into a full, housing, planetary PVP and a wicked space battle game too.

    Epic.

Have a sense of humor, no need to get ALL MODDY ! :) A Simpson's quote shouldn't be worth a warning. You are lucky anyone is bothering to read this rag.

Endgame with a point is a must, for example WoW's endgame is a total waste of time since there is no use for the gear. DAoC old school you'd raid for gear then have the option to pvp in it since at the time it was the best gear in game. Arena based pvp doesn't interest me, since like WoW's endgame its also pointless XD.

3 Factions RvR how could I possibly missed that!

With all those propositions you made, SWTOR simply wouldn't be SWTOR anymore and could more easily be described as SWG 2.0. What could have been an interesting discussion with users coming up with REASONABLE and REALISTIC ideas that would add to the game became a flame war between TOR fans and SWG veterans; good job!

I do agree I did go a bit too far with FPS combat and no levels. As such I'm going to replace it with more active cover system == no ranged characters standing in the open and need to use cover/duck for survival.

Now that is out it's not really a SWG II as we are keeping the story based content, companions, and getting a good space sim vs the dumbed down JTL one. I'm just topping TOR with more sandbox features without digging into the free for all player houses system.

Some planets not having a GPS system where you have to rely on your orientation to explore them.

    Day/night cycle

    Water content

Rerender the entire game, possibly with a different engine. 2011... wait... what?

    ... Launch?

(Since I'm already sold on it, pretty much only the launch of  the game :D)

I would play this game if it would be like Darkfall+Mortal Online+Lineage2+Archage. However it wont happen. SWOTR is silly game for silly people. Cheers

    1. SWG/JTL-style space combat.

    2. SWG-style appearance tab.

    3. SWG-style housing in ships and phased apartments (not freely placed houses).

What would make SWTOR truly epic for you?

If the future playerbase of SWTOR is more mature, intelligent, and overall "nicer", than most of the MMO communities.

If the Graphics had a more realistic and improved look, it would be even more 'epic'.

If they would also make character progression alot less simplified, and more complex,  I would be impressed.

If they could quickly add alot of quests/ and companion quests and a good rate after release, I would be VERY impressed.

Looks good, but greatness would be on another level if they added the above.

As many have said already content for max level that does not involve raids or dailies.

This could possibly be space combat, crafting, pvp etc.

That is not to say raids and single group instances are not fun but according to most mmo polls they do get old the quickest of all max lvl content.

Agreed. I'm just ready to play and let them add the other stuff later.

How about innovation? I've been convinced that this game has NOTHING of the sort. I can't wait until this game is down to one hurting server. This game is a disgrace to the future of MMOs.

"Hey guys, I was playing WoW the other day and noticed an end game gear grind combined with easy mode brings in subs! Now I know that AoC, Aion, and Warhammer failed, but hey, this has to be the one!"

    Oh please.......

Too me, its already epic enough to keep me entertained for quite some time.

The only request I'd have is that there are multiple color schemes for the UI.  If you roll Republic the current blue fits as well as green, but for the Empire, I'd love to see a red, black or purple scheme.  Course anyone could choose whatever of those I mentioned regardless of your allegience.

Make truly epic for me?  Epic is such a strong word...maybe too strong.  However, address my concerns, and I will be very pleased.

So the caveat is that no one has played SW:TOR yet, but the devs have only been proud an open about limited information for some reason.  In the end, I will place more emphasis on overall breadth and depth of “game-play” that transcends what I have already played over the last several years.

But on the surface, as it related to SWTOR information that I have been able to glean, what I’m not thrilled about, and would be thrilled if addressed is:

1: Graphics style makes it appear more like Star Wars: The Clone Wars  http://www.starwars.com/theclonewars/

    2.  World and game-play comes across as though it will be heavily instanced (sharding -- shards has never, in any game that has employed them, prevented lag or served a meaningful massively-multiplayer community-cohesive purpose); Instances within instances, such as Tatoonie 1, 2, 3 and then on-top of that, an emphasis on single-player-esque lobby-system game-play (aka Raids or Flashpoints), with the concern mounting about they becoming the same limited and repeatable scenarios that bore most mmorpg enthusiasts.

    3. Linear story just like every other mmorpg, but there is no significance on massively-multiplayer or community-centric cohesive factional open-world game-play, but one story-line that ends up the same, though only providing dark, neutral, or light-side “points”, depending on your response.

    4. Another hardcore themepark static ride, WoW with lightsabers, without any sandboxy elements such as player-emphasized content or economy or crafting or open-world strongholds/contested planets or territory, but where ~70% of the box purchasers bail 3-6 months post launch (as they have with most other mmorpgs over the last several years) because of the developers expectation and expectancy of grinding the same redundant and linear content ad nauseum within a lobby-system is entertaining.

    5. Limited number of classes, non-existant non-combat professions, limited character customization.

So in closing, what I would be very enthusiastic about is addressing my top 5 above, aside from the fact that Star Wars, is well, Star Wars, but without space content.  Okay.

To be honest I don't see how a UI can make any game epic. It can certainly help making the game more enjoyable or less pleasant but epic?

Not being a raid-wow-like-grinder would just do it for me.

After seeing the last game video from the 26.08 friday update I realized I will not be getting this game (sadly).

To be truly epic for *me* the game would have to be entirely redesigned.

Since that isn't going to happen it will just be another MMO that I will play for a month or two.

So I'm not saying their choice is bad or that its epic fail.   I'm not saying they should redesign the game.. I'm simply answering the question.

If they segregated the SWG fans onto their own servers. Not looking forward to OOC chat from them.

Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget.

I would just take 2 good things from SWG.

    1. Meaningful Crafting System (weapons, clothing / armor and jewerly) with randomized stats depending on the grade or materials / minerals harvested with named bragging rights.

for example when crafting in my crafting loft

    Highplains Blast-Tech DL-44

    Highplains Gaffii Stick

Downing bosses would drop nice modded materials / items used for crafting.  This would make crafting key in this game and the other faction trying to out do one another on who has the better crafters working for them.

I am tired of boss's dropping certain weapons and armor pieces for a certain class (this is to WoWish now)

    2. Player Housing (whether instanced or not). As long as we got some kind of system that can show our wares and achievement, I would even take Anarchy Online or EQ2 system, I am not picky when it comes to this).

As for PvP I would throw in a baby version of Eve Online System and take it from there.

    http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Security_Status

According to this, I look like a crafter that likes Eve Online as well image

So in other words.. SWG crafting / Housing system mixed with Eve Online PvP system

However I know this won't ever happen and will just enjoy ToR for what it is.
