It's sad to see every mmo these days making slight spin offs of WoW (except GW2, and yes SWOTOR is a slight spin off of WoW). All these mmo's do is create the same exact concepts WoW has (and YES I know wow wasn't the first MMO to have these) but why can't their be a fantasy style mmo that is completely different, in everyway to mmo's we have these days.
What I'm saying is, all mmo's these days all have
* instanced dungeons
* instanced raids
* quests with exclamation mark over their head
* same UI, with same health bars, same hot bars, and same interface as everyone else
* all focus on gaining levels and most of the focus is endgame content
* same item and crafting systems
* same quest progression
What I'm asking for is innovation, and polish. You could argue and say some mmos have tried to be different, like Mortal Online for example. But that game lacks so much polish it's REDICULOUS. I think a game company needs to change the way mmo's are made, like WoW did. Something with the polish of WoW, but with innovation, depth, and creative systems that haven't been seen before.
MMO creators need to look outside the box, take a leap, and try something new. Otherwise this genre of gaming is going nowhere.

for some reason that screen shot reminds me alot of the midgiuard starting town in DAoC
I would have given the game some support and jumped in the beta.. but it looks like you need to login to facebook to play.. No Thanks.
does that mean we'll stop seeing those ugly site-skins?
oh my mad, i thought it said 'Eden Eternal' :P
Login with Facebook kills this game for me
.... because i forgot my facebook password.. damn you EE
So What Now?
well i think you should check out firefall it's nothing like wow oh it has an open would, you wont like that it's too wow for you, but really firefall is like nothing iv seen before, it looks great
I heard that making a Facebook account is hard...
I was in the original beta for EE and it's a really fun little game. Not sure why anyone would hate on it.

This is a re-launch of the game. It's original incarnation did not survive. I don't know why. Players for the most part said the game was good, but had a couple of technical issues. The classes and game play were top notch.
The developers have made it clear that this is not the same game. Any characters you had from the first incarnation will not be there in this one. However, if you played and enjoyed the first incarnation of EE, you should play and enjoy this one as well.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
I agree. While we're at it, why do shooters have to use the same mechanics?
*Same UI with health and armor
*Shooting people in the head gets bonus damage
*hitting the left mouse button to shoot, right mouse to iron sights or scope
*Same Lobby system
*Same goals "shoot this guy" "attack that base" "defend this bomb"
What I'm trying to say is, why not have innovation? A first person shooter that isn't in first person, and has no shooting? How about a first person shooter told from a third person perspective where you shoot balls into a hoop? We can call it hoopyhoop, it'll be the best FPS since Call of Duty.
I agree about the requirement for a Facebook login. I would have tried the game out if it wasn't for that. As it stands, I'll look elsewhere.
Why not just make a facebook account for the game. Problem solved?
Anyone have a link to Hoopyhoop?
Classes: (3)
Knight, Rogue, Mage
Races: (12)
Anura (Frog)
Feline (Cat)
Faxen (Fox)
Hart (Deer/Elk)
Longtail (Mouse)
Fangren (Not sure)
Sylvan
Yeti
Clockwork
Grumkin ( Goblin?)
Demon
Cyclops
... and Druid.
Yes Druid - sorry
This game looks bad. I'm starting to think that people are just not trying to even make new games anymore, just find new ways to sell cash shop items.
You obviously lack the knowledge that the FPS genre is a very narrow genre. What I mean by that is, there are many different types of shooters, just like their are different types of MMO's. I didn't say "why can't they innovate on themepark mmos, or sandbox mmo's" I stated MMO's in general. MMO's have become very stale and straight forward and never add anything drastically new to the table.
I don't understand what your trying to poke fun at here. My guess is that you just don't understand what innovation and depth means.
You do realize that most of what you claim to be a quality of WoW, came out BEFORE WoW existed, right?
People will argue even over the color of shit.
I wouldnt have tried the game anyways, but I agree login with facebook really?
Own, Mine, Defend, Attack, 24/7
You obviously didn't read my whole post? But I'll help ya out anyway
Quoted from my first post:
"All these mmo's do is create the same exact concepts WoW has (and YES I know wow wasn't the first MMO to have these)"
I'm beginning to think Hoopyhoop may not be released yet. Is it in beta?
