The APB Reloaded blog has been updated with a new post detailing the latest client updates. Among the notable inclusions in the post is the news that the pesky server-side lag issue has been resolved. Also, the matchmaking system has been tweaked and players have been warned that, due to some awesome mathematical data crunching, their threat levels may be different.
The idea with this distribution is that 30% of players will be Bronze (1-10 in the above chart), 60% will be Silver (11-20 above) and 10% will be Gold (21-30). In this rating system only 0.2% of players will be Gold 10.
The vast majority of players will end up in the range Bronze 6 to Silver 8 (80% of players), and then players above (Silver 9 and up) or below (Bronze 5 and less) will be quite rare (roughly 10% above and below that middle set of values).
Silver 5 will be the most common rating, with 9% of players being a Silver 5.
So when you log back in to the game tonight - don't be surprised that your level has changed. In fact - it may have jumped from a Bronze 1 to a Silver 2 (if you were at the very top of the Bronze 1 range).

Placing TL 8 players vs. TL 1 players based on their skill is still unbalanced matching when the TL 8 players usually have access to better gear and weapons than a new player.
Not to mention only having temporary weapons to use in the game is a waste of code. This IP turned out to be a big disappointment imo.
I know, I was the ultimate fanboy of the game, but damn, what was I blind. The company behind this game is an utter joke. AND now they have Fallen Earth as well. 2 games farged up.
I said this on their blog, but i'll just copy it here as well.
Too bad, but me and all my friends stopped playing. Look, it is fine if there is a cash shop in game. But..
- The prices are insane.
- You offer old content only unlockable through the cash shop.
- OP guns which are overpriced.
- Premium is a joke. Why? We get f*ckall for the amount of money we have to pay. In a P2P game, you get the WHOLE game if you pay.
- The amount of advertisement is insane. If I am a premium player, I DO NOT want emails and ingame advertisements telling me to go premium.
And really, sort out the game before charging money. I played for almost 600 hours, and still the same bugs are in the game, since RTW.
The game runs shite compared to how it looks.
And comparing the cash shop of this game to the cash shop from League of Legends and Global Agenda, I only can say, GamersLast, MoneyFirst.
NEVER put any gamebreaking items in a cash shop. And why the flying duck would you put old content in the cash shop? The game is all about customization and I can't even unlock car parts anymore.
Why doesn't APB get a developer/company who actually cares about their playerbase.
Their cash shop design is one of the worst I have ever seen. Talk about really soaking the playerbase.....They should talk to gpotato and find out what a bad cash shop does to a game.
Wait a second. Isnt the cisco shown in the picture above also a "hacked' car? Im fairly certain those car parts arent available ingame yet - neither through F2P nor paying for them...
Still on a good day this game is a very entertaing PvP romp that rewards the tactical team and give you a warm fuzzy feeling... Ofvc on a bad day it is just pitch black despair... But then again.. that is PvP warfare for you.
This have been a good conversation
One of the best games i've ever played and I mean that. Too bad this awesome title is clouded by hackers and a company who has no idea how to bring it to it's full potential.
If they ever find a way to get rid of the hackers or atleast so it's not as rampant as it currently is i'd be back with a smile on my face. Even with the horrible cash shop balance and lack of content.
Treestars for the low
I haven't had a problem with the game yet, other then the annoying "go Premium" ads that pop up after every mission, but hell, I'm playing for free so I really can't complain. I don't find that other players have overpowered weapons that I just can't compete against. I've never used the cash shop, and I'm having a great time, just playing it as is.
So the cash shop might have bad prices( I haven't even looked), and there may be legitimate reasons for complaints, but I am really having a great time playing this game. I feel no reason to nerdrage if I don't win, and it's a fast paced, exciting game to play that is consistently challenging.
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.
I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.
I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.
I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.
I never complain about not winning matches personally. That's because it's not about winning specifically to me. To me, it's about the game not being balanced or functional on any sane level unfortunately.
I feel bad for any of the trolls in-game who defend APB just because the mods cater to their flaming and vulgar attitudes. I seriously doubt the IP will last a full year before it is forgotten as the game that could have been. G1 should have left APB in the ditch where it belongs at this point.
I can't believe didn't game didn't die right away again. I was offered to play for free before it died the first time, on that tester server or whatever. I laughed at the email before deleting it. You couldn't pay me to play garbage like this. I mean, its just a death match game, even crime craft had more variety and that game was horrible too.
If you were paid to play APB, you would play it. Don't say things that are so absurd just because they're such a massive cliche that you can't come up with anything original to express yourself. It makes it clear that you have a poor imagination.
Beyond that, I think the FREE game is just fine and coming along nicely. Considering its in the hands of an all new team of developers. I really look forward to seeing it mature now.
