You realize that Amazon puts tentative dates like that on products that have no official release date, right?
However, there is other evidence suggesting that TOR will indeed be released by the end of this year, likely in November or late December. I'd be surprised if the 31st is the actual release date.
if its not the same for EU and NA im not buying it.
Why not?
The only reason I can imagine it mattering is if you plan on playing on the NA servers (from Romania?)... seems like latency would be much higher going that far to connect...

Maybe he's just plain sick of america getting head starts as always (like the rest of us)
There is no reason why they cant release worldwide at a "similar" time period tbh.
I remember SWG released 4 months later for EU in compared to america, which is bs
if you are eagerly awaiting a game such as the long awaited SWTOR, after 6yrs in the making,
would you like to wait an extra week or month longer than other people?

The release date sounds like bs to me, no-one releases in such a bizarre period, most
companies try to get it the christmas sales, especially greedy companies like EA & LA

mostly because it would mean EA is failing from start.
not that a few days would matter much, most important are the patch days anyway.
come to think of it... EA already failed. most of Europe cant pre-order the game yet.

Dude do your homework before posting, as thats bs, i pre-ordered weeks ago & i have m8's
in sweeden & finland who have also pre-ordered, just because you may not be able to pre-order
does not make it "most of europe" unless you can varify this with some form of source?
But i agree with you that EA generally fail as a company 99% of the time from my long experience.

There is no homework to do as there is no source or EA didnt specify yet what countries cant pre-order and why.. or at least I didnt find any info about it.
but what I can tell you.. from my corp (guild/clan/whatever) of 27 members only 3 ot 4 were able to pre-order. 2 of them being from UK.
Now thinking that Europe has 50+ countries if only like around 10 can pre-order and rest cant... means to me that MOST of EU cant.
Also I saw some saying they can only pre-order the normal box version from certain retailers. I cant imagine the rage some people will get if they discover that the CE editions are in limited number and they dont have any chance of getting one.
Also I cant understand why at least the digital pre-order is not avaliable for anyone.
There are some retailers in certain countries where the normal box game is listed as a pre-order option but they just charge you the full amount now and dont even give you any head-start codes like they should... so thats not a pre-order.
Maybe we should start a poll to see some more numbers but it would not be anything close to a statistic.
I don't know if this will do anyone any good, but I pre-ordered mine here. Looks really suspicious, but I got my early access code about 15 minutes after ordering. At least I think it's an early access code... The game shows up in Origin in any case. Might be worth a shot if you really want to pre-order, I guess, since I don't think they discriminate based on where you're living. I'm not sure though as obviously I'm allowed to shop there.

I'd be very surprised if they released in 2011. I have not seen hide nor hare of a realease date, even a wild guess from Bioware. I think they know they can take as long as they please and people will just wait:)

THere's plenty of reasons.. Lets see, server crashes due to load limits, server queues ( most hate them). Releasing with 90+ servers when they may need only 60 in the end, meaning thousands of players need to relocate etc.... All in all they want a smooth launch, no company has handled mass launches well, because hardware doesn't handle them well.
To bring up SWG is funny, and ironic, yeah they released months earlier in the states, and they still had massive issues with server performance.

Who releases a game the day before new years ? -_-

The Amazon date was already discredited as a place holder by Bioware a week or two ago.
Store dates are not too meaningful usually.
An honest review of SW:TOR 6/10 (Danny Wojcicki)

The date is a placeholder because the actual release date has not been put out by Bioware/EA yet.
here we go again
