Updated ability page and complete custom class list

I posted this also on one of the archeage fansites, but I thought I'd post it here too anyways. The Archeage official site has updated their ability combination section. Every single three ability combination now has a custom class name that reflects to the best of the definition to reflect what that set of three abilities will or could possibly do. You can mess around with it here: (In the advanced tab)

I'll abbreviate it since it's real long: (This list is subject to change, if Archeage changes their info)

 

COM: combat  >>  MELEE SKILLS

"You can use destructive attack skills in a rage to various surrounding enemies at the same time and your attack speed can be temporarily increased to a great extent through haste."

 

FORT: fortification  >>  TANK SKILLS

"You can use skills to increase your health and defense or to temporarily become invincible, and sometimes protect your mates by switching the surrounding enemy’s aggro to yourself."



DTH: death  >> DEATH SKILLS

"You can use the power of the dead to give powerful magic damage to enemies and make them tremble for fear. 

You can also freely go to death and come back to life by making your soul leave and come back to the body."



MAG: magic  >>  DIRECT MAGICAL ATTACK SKILLS

"You can use powerful and traditional magic spells such as flare, meteor, and shield. You will have very balanced skills."



ART: artistry >> DEFENSIVE GROUP BUFF/STATUS-EFFECT SKILLS

"You can support your mates by singing and playing instruments. You will be needed in combats to increase moving and recovering speeds."



CONJ: conjury  >>  OFFENSIVE INDIRECT STATUS EFFECT/SUMMON SKILLS

"Instead of giving direct magic damage to enemies, you can disturb or block their attack with 

weakening skills such as fear, sleep, float, and tie. You can also summon evil spirits."


 

WILL:   >>  MAGICAL DMG/DEFENSIVE- SUPPORT SKILLS

You can use vitality to give powerful magic damage to surrounding enemies or protect mates 

from magic damage. You can also seal the opponent’s skills or create portals to teleport.



WILD:  >>  RANGE/CAPTURE-MOB SKILLS

"You can chase and kill your target through range attacks. You can also tame wild beasts."



CALL: calling  >>  ROGUE/ASSASSIN-LIKE SKILLS

"You can quietly approach enemies and give them fatal damage through raid assassination. You can also dash 

in a breath and attack enemies at long distance. The skills will be very effective in player versus player combats
."



DEV: devotion  >>  HIGH-HEALING SKILLS

"You can resurrect your surrounding mates or allies, and restore their health by healing. You have the ability to increase the viability of your mates through healing and resurrection."

    Dont realy matter does it?, its just a name for a combined skill set , if you want to bind a "role" to it I supose one could say..Jester's pester enemy's and distract them so that other "role's"can do their strange name stuff.

    Don't forget that this is a sandbox game. A person, if they desired, could be a stand up comedian, specially if they devise a way to make money from it.

    I just wish I knew what "reinforcement" really means on that little web chart.

    I know I want to play a Wandering Knight and my wife wants to play a Tamer or Playboy (wtf??)

    I can't wait till we get to see what the actual abilities are for each profession.  I know I want to play a melee guy with a pet.  I might drop the fortification for artistry or will....I might try the Contriver too.

    This is nice, but I want a lot more information about what each ability brings to the table.

    For example this http://archeagewiki.com/Ability gives a list of skills associated with each ability, but alas I think it is now outdated.

    Yeah, I like their wiki a lot too. But you're correct, the ability names are outdated.

     It is probably support type skills.Did you watch any of the videos that sample some skills for each of the 10 abilities yet?

    I dont think each profession is going to have certain special skills attached to it just able to pick skills from the 3 abilities the chose.But it would be nice it they did.

    Thanks for updating the wiki! The lady who runs it has been really busy with RIFT lately. Same person who did the really good Telarapedia. :)

    Hmm I've been somewhat following this game sense it popped up on the hype list, but this really surprised me.  I had no idea that it was using a combination class system kind of like Rift. 

    Is there any more details on how this is going to work?  Do you get a set of skills from each of your three abilities that are shared with all others who have that ability as one of their three?  Or are there specific skills that will be unique per combination?

    Do you choose all three abilities/characteristics at character creation and that becomes your class?  Or can you possibly swap out abilities later?  I really hope you can't swap, I like the idea of there being such a variety of classes based on what people want to play instead of people swapping to what other people tell them is better later on.
