I posted this also on one of the archeage fansites, but I thought I'd post it here too anyways. The Archeage official site has updated their ability combination section. Every single three ability combination now has a custom class name that reflects to the best of the definition to reflect what that set of three abilities will or could possibly do. You can mess around with it here: (In the advanced tab)

It'd be nice each specific class has a special skill. But since they haven't mentioned it, I'm just going to assume for now it's just a name title.

I don't quite get it. For example, what would a "jester" do in the game to warrant that name?
Dont realy matter does it?, its just a name for a combined skill set , if you want to bind a "role" to it I supose one could say..Jester's pester enemy's and distract them so that other "role's"can do their strange name stuff.
Don't forget that this is a sandbox game. A person, if they desired, could be a stand up comedian, specially if they devise a way to make money from it.

I know I want to play a Wandering Knight and my wife wants to play a Tamer or Playboy (wtf??)
I can't wait till we get to see what the actual abilities are for each profession. I know I want to play a melee guy with a pet. I might drop the fortification for artistry or will....I might try the Contriver too.
This is nice, but I want a lot more information about what each ability brings to the table.

I dont think each profession is going to have certain special skills attached to it just able to pick skills from the 3 abilities the chose.But it would be nice it they did.

Hmm I've been somewhat following this game sense it popped up on the hype list, but this really surprised me. I had no idea that it was using a combination class system kind of like Rift.
Is there any more details on how this is going to work? Do you get a set of skills from each of your three abilities that are shared with all others who have that ability as one of their three? Or are there specific skills that will be unique per combination?
Do you choose all three abilities/characteristics at character creation and that becomes your class? Or can you possibly swap out abilities later? I really hope you can't swap, I like the idea of there being such a variety of classes based on what people want to play instead of people swapping to what other people tell them is better later on.
