Voyage Century: Flying the Jolly Roger

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

Voyage Century Online players now have the opportunity to fly the Jolly Roger and practice pirate speak. Pirates are cropping up in most regions of the game and can be identified based on the regions they operate in, such as the Caribbean Pirates, Corsica Pirates, Crete Pirates etc..

Before you can join a pirate nation, you must increase your degree of amity with that nation. Attack flag ships around the island where the pirate nation is located to increase your amity. Of course if you get close to their island, you will be attacked. To avoid conflict with the pirates, you must change to Red Name status and find the pirates’ leader to submit an application to join them. After the leader approves your application, you can become a pirate member of that nation.

Looks a bit too much like Uncharted Waters Online, doesn't it?

I believe this was out before Uncharted Waters, but yes they are very similar, tho Voyage Century has always had more of a loyal playerbase from what I noticed everytime I jumped on to see how it was doing, compared to doing the same on Uncharted Waters

Yes VS came out well before UWO,  furthermore VS is more sandbox and doesn't hold you on rails as badly as UWO does.   Most importantly the controls are much better in VS.

It use to be a full sandbox till they tried to convert it to a theme park by putting in a quest system, professions and dungeons. They made all the old ways to level pretty much pointless unless you want a slower way to level. And they failed trying to add professions, the healer makes up probably 75% to 80% of the community last i played. It's an over powered solo class and if you have invested a ton of real life money into your gear and weapon, your pretty much unstoppable as an armed buisnessman (healer). A great, great game that IGG let turn to the ultimate pay to win game.

VCO has been out since about 2006. I Beta tested it and it was a great game. Two years later things went downhill quickly and became a strictly pay-to-win game. Folks, don't waste your time on this...just let a dying game rot in peace. ;-)

Totaly agree with you m8 i've play'd it for allmost 1,5 year, the game was fun at start but since IGG started to sell those exp scrolls, allowing any rich noob to sit on seville selling IM and gaining exp with no effort , it just kill'd the game for me.

Then came the reffining part, what a nightmare....the fail rate is just....horrible to say the least...bottom point, P2Win game non Item mall users have no chance against those eho spend thousends on IM....
