Sylvari Minions?

soldierguy97soldierguy97 Member UncommonPosts: 8

Do you think sylvari will have the power to turn trees or plants into their minions or pets? The races trailer shows Caithe turning an animal like plant alive. Each race has its own special kind of ability.

Human: Giant cities

Norn: Can turn into an animal

Sylvari: Intune with nature

Charr: Brutality, siege weapons, increased movement speed

Asura: Improved technology, and personal golem suit

So what do you guys think? Can the sylvari create an army of plants? or are they just involved with nature?

Cabbage Patch Kids and Chia Pets probably.

It's in the racials and those aren't revealed yet, although certain Sylvari racial skill supposedly DOES involve Oakhearts in some fashion. Maybe it's akin to the Asura Golem suit, except it functions as an autonomous pet? Dunno.

I would hope their minions are not vegetarians or else they might wake up half eaten.

Hounds of Balthazar is speculation and can easily be changed because the developers change many things around. The whole saying what other races may do, i was making the point that other races have something special wat will sylvari's be?

    Sigh.

    1. The charr are more organised and militaristic than the other races but that's due to their drive to survive, but they don't hold the throne for brutality. If you want to learn more about that, read up on the piece of lore called 'The Guild Wars,' the other races are either as brutal or more brutal as the charr. Don't mix up military strength with brutality. The allied forces had military strength in World War II, but should I think of them as brutal? There is a difference.

    2. The charr don't have increased movement speed. All races have three states: They can either move with their weapons drawn, which is a standard movement speed, they can sheathe their weapons and run to gain an overall and permanent speed boost, or they can walk with their weapons sheathed. These options are available to all the races. If you're looking for what the charr have then you need to be looking more at technology. One of their racial skills is a remotely detonated mine, for example.

    3. If you want to understand each of the races, click the links in my signature and read.

Well, since they showed what appeared to be the Hounds of Balthazar in the Gamescon Trailer, then it's a bit more than mere speculation.

This trailer is awsome. It is even better that a fully rendered short movie imo. Sure the scenes are clealry choosen and picked carefully, but still, it give better sensation imo than a fully rendered movie. If they manage to give those kind of sensation when playing i'll just take my hat off.

They were already in the trailer - shown. That elite may vary depending on the god you choose for your background.

Actually it has been said that biography/storyline choices do not influence which racial skills you have access to. However it has been speculated that it does influence the order in which you gain access to the racial skills.

Yes it may just be Hounds of balthazar but do you know for sure? That could be a small boss that summons them. The list of what the races can do was just something i did in 2 min without really caring how it would sound. I was making the point that sylvari have something special would you like to comment on the actual topic of this post or would you like keep on the subject?

OP, don't accuse people of going off topic, especially if you're taking part in the discussion. Saying something like, "I don't care if my list was wrong," just makes you look like a jerk. The humans' power being summons is very relevant because it helps give an idea of what sort of racials there will be.

They stated some time ago that humans can summon the Hounds of Balthazar. It is not speculation. Everything is subject to change, but as they appeared in the recent trailer, we don't have a lot of reason to doubt their existance.

So far, three out of five races (humans, charr, and asura) have summons as racial elites. There's a pretty good chance the sylvari could have one, too.

Plants vs Zombies? But aren't you going to play a sylvari necromancer?
