Roma Victor looks like it could possibly be the best mmorpg ever made if it has all the features that it says it will have. The thing that most excited me was the real-twitch time combat system with adrenaline and all. The PvP sounds perfect as you can attack people in cities but the police dudes (forget what they called will kill you). The graphics didnt look the best...but i was satisfied (who knows they might improve them). Another thing is that if you kill a player HE FREAKIN drops everything! I am very excited about this one.

I'm buzzed about RV, I hope they can pull it off because it's the answers to my MMO prayers, we should leave the hyping of the game closer to launch when we're certain of the features in-game and can effectively promote RV to the wider MMO community.
RV shows huge promise - lets hope it delivers.
Benny......................................
I too can't wait for RV to release - it should be a great MMO and I agree it should be hyped nearer the time of release.
I just hope none of the eye candy freaks gets in, there's no tester less credible than an person that only looks for eye candy.
The game looks great, from what I gather the skill tree is so large communities/group collaboration to do stuff will pretty much be REQUIRED unless you have a lot of NPCs and a lot of money to do stuff without the help of other people. really looking foward to this game, this could be one of the big success stories that comes from a small dev team, IF everything goes as planned.
No wizards but look up 'lore' on the RV site. Maybe the gods look favourably on the faithful or maybe they don't exist. Just like real life that which is unproven may still exist.

ugly girls try harder /chuckle
Make a difference!
Actually you can like do curses or blessings but not really spells as this game is more realistic than most mmorpgs. I actually like the idea of haveing extremely limited magic.
Eve Online is the best graphics outthere. But when you travel through your Hundred Thousandth Gate you realize the backround is made up of randomized stars, with 3 different randomized types of hues, and 5 patterns of clouds. It becomes quite normal after a couple of weeks of playing, so regular and normal you no longer need any Metamucil.
And you begin to realize you cannot put your throttle to the metal and accelerate towards one of the stars in the backround, because the backround never gets any bigger. You see that its like wallpaper or a screensaver. Do you have a kickass screensaver? Do you enjoy starring at your screensaver on your computer monitor for hours on end?
Anyways, if you look closely youll notice the shadows arent turned on, neither are the trees, neither are little bushes, or any foliage whatsover. The water isnt even there, heck im suprised I saw clouds.
The clouds are just one texture, like EVE's stars. Well, as far as I know.

maybe its just these young kids, hell im 27 I remeber when video games were text haha, so graphics are very low on the list for me.

I'm a huge history nut. Especially when it comes to Roman history. I live and breathe it. Now I'm also one to admit that graphics do not make a game. If a game is not good it doesnt matter how great the graphics are. But these days games need to at least have above average graphics to make it. Now I'm not talking about EQ2 standards. But they should at least have DAoC graphics to make it. Anything less will fail miserably.
I had big hopes for Roma Victor because it's a historically accurate MMO. But I fear that the whole game engine being used is seriously below present day standards. The graphics are bad, character models are far too stiff and unnatural looking, character movement looks terrible, and the scenery is just plain blah. I really wanted to see this MMO turn out to be another addiction of mine but I fear it's going to fall extremely short.
