Is there 1 major new feature that we can agree on to be added to Rift before the next wave of competition come along?
I was interested in some new phase text, or solo instances. Maybe more dynamic events and a PvP cross server zone like GW2 has.Or Level Scaling contents in lower level areas. But thats something "I" want. What is something that "WE" the "Community" can agree on that should be the next major feature to be added to Rift so that it competes well against the competitions?

Well in the future there will be a PvP Island thing. There's also Instant Adventure which hits on the solo instances stuff you're talking about.
Just a minor thing, but technically GW2 doesn't have anything. They have plans. Until it's launched - it's planned. Think of all the stuff that AoC 'had' before launch. I'm not saying GW2 won't have that, let's just reserve a little judgement til the monster mmo finally gets released upon the public.
I play on Argent which is supposed to be an RP server. There are a lot of big guilds, many are solely raid guilds but some are RP guilds and a lot of RP goes on. Unfortunately Rift being a typical theme park game there isn't much in the way of character customisation (even with the introduction of the wardrobe feature not every armour or clothing item can be placed there) or guild depth outside of guild chat. I'd like steps to deepen the RP experience for guilds a little more, something neglected by all the quest grinder mmos recently. They have quests, epic storylines, back stories etc... but it never really adds to the immersive quality that I think mmos should have. It's a shame quests have become just a means to get to lvl 50 so that most can start grinding T2 dungeons and raid rifts.
I suppose i'm looking for stuff to do outside of T2s, raids and warfronts, which are ok but which all feel like mini-games to me and little more, with no impact on the game world (Telara). The world events are a start, but If i'm going to stick with Rift and not move on to GW2 and ToR I want to feel part of the world long term and that I can effect the world itself a little more and my time invested is worthwhile.
They drop Planar Attunement in the way I think they are about to and you have something you have not seen since EQ failed at it.
What will they drop? How about another 3 major patch updates before SWToR even launches in November?? Monthly updates are just normal right? Can we agree that is just not normal?
Solo/Duo instances is something GW2 is trying to pull off and SWToR fans will be drolling over. This game can adjust far faster then either of those two in my view, but we will see.
Gw2 fans are just assuming everyone will be cool with no real instanced pve raids or removing healers from the game. Take my word this is not going to go over smoothly. Just because it is Star Wars or Guild Wars does not = auto win. God knows how many crap Star Wars games have been released and done wrong.
Lets see if GW2 or SWToR even turn on in the first month before we predict Rifts doom here. It is hard to have a game live working like Rift and then compare it to hype...how do you do that?
Trion has the benefit of flexibility.
THey can shoehorn many different types of mechanics into RIFT much like Blizzard can with WoW.
Personally im looking forward to AA and the new solo/duo content.

The class system and zone invasion system is enough innovation.
All they need to do now is bloat the game and give people another reason to play at endgame other than raiding or WF farming.
What the game does it does well, now we need more content, more zones, factions, dungeons...
Let GW2 and TOR try to be innovative RIFT is good the way it is.

You can press control + y in your mmo right now and start recordign 720p 10min videos for free? Just sayingggg
That's not bad for now.
Fix the bugs and keep that PvP exploiting out. Or at least act like they give a damn when people do exploit it by banning accounts or rollbacks of PvP gains.
"TO MICHAEL!"
They are adding AA system too. So yeah they have a lot of planning done ahead of time.
