I would suggest Shadow Worlds. it's a 2d multyplayer role playing game. I've played it almost 8 years now. The player base is low right now but we are waiting on huge updates. You can find it at www.shadowworlds.com. We have a friendly community and are always welcoming new players.
I like it because you can train skills seperately when ever you want as high as you want. You dont get skill points from leveling, you get skill points from training a skill (magic skill, magic resistance skill, spear, sword, axe, shield ect.)
Basically you could be level 10 with high weapon and shield skills or magic skills if you go the mage route. So you could still hit really hard at a low level if you train your weapon or magic skills. There aren't any specified classes on there you build your char how you want it to be.
Hope to see you on there if you join my ign is Luniz on the Dp server (Dark Plane) which is the pvp server. The Sp server is down right now.
