I'm looking for a new MMO. I cancelled Rift a few weeks ago because of the endgame. The rep grinding and running the same dungeons over and over felt too much like work. It might just be Rift's endgame, I don't know.
My first MMO was Asheron's Call 2000-2005, then vanilla WoW which I never made it to the endgame because of the level grinding.
Any suggestions for a different game?
TIA

yeah, i also cancelled my rift account a few months back for the same reasons. currently playing a few f2p titles (champions online-meh, eden eternal-grindy, AoC-gradually getting boring, LoTRO-got bored of it) til something fresh releases since there`s nothing worth subbing to atm.
Try out Guildwars or DDO, they have different endgames. Most other MMOs sadly have the same as Rift.
depends on what you are expecting from the game, what are you looking for.
Im at the same place atm. I open my games folder every so often only to close it again and I cant seem to find a game I actually want to play right now. Its very boring and sad. Waiting badly for Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2 and Battlefield 3. I have played WoW, Rift, Lotro, Fallen Earth, GW, Vanguard, EQ2, DDO and other MMO's. Heeeelp..
I tried a few F2p and some trials too. Tried to go back to AC,but for some reason none of my CC's would work with their system, maybe it was an omen telling me not to waste my money, lol.
Try Dragona Online it just went into OBT a few days ago! Im having a blast myself look me up on Juda IGN is Doomclap
Why does no one suggest EQ2? Might not be brand new but the graphics have aged well enough. They continue to get updatese. You can play for free. More quests, gear, instances, dungones, raids, solo and group content than you could imagine.
Has plenty of flaws and issues thats for sure. But what doesn't?
If you dont mind old graphics Anarchy Online is worth a try.
It is very deep game with 3 factions system.
And you can play for free.
Try Dragon Nest. You may be suprised.
It is still an okay game to play, the problem is that no one wants to trust SOE anymore.
Thanks for all the suggests. I'm going to try these out today.
If you don't mind playing offline, and something that is not an MMO, you may want to try X3 Terran Conflict. It's an amazing open sandbox. I know people who have been playing it for years already and are still going.
Now, the learning curve is VERY step. It's a very deep game, but it takes a while before you get the ropes.
Have you tried games like Vindictus or Dragon Nest yet? They're a really nice change in pace.
I was in the same situation as you until I tried out League of Legends, which is a MOBA, not an MMO. I'm having a blast playing it and haven't been this into a game for the past forever. So maybe you could try exploring other types of online games and give MMOs a break. After all absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?
