There has not been a House of Commons in a while ( HOC is where the players can ask the devs direct questions through Mods who take the questions to the devs, then selected questions are answered)

Yeah, even though the HoCs of the past didn't really answer anything (they mostly consisted of Henrik promising a lot of things or repeating old stuff), at least they gave a sense of communication and interaction between players and devs. If Henrik won't be doing them anymore, at least cancel the Hocs officially and set up some other channel for communication that can provide an equal sense of interaction. PMing Black Opal and then hoping for some eventual response is not really what we're looking for here. |

You see thats the reason of the HoC, you determine the topic and discussions not me, I simply answer the best way I can. If its old stuff repeated stuff ,then it is because thats the question that being sent to me. I simply answer them, and we really dont ignore many questions or avoid them, we pretty much cover most questions in the time frame we are given. So I think its the questioneer that needs to be looked at if the HoC doesnt bring what its suposed to. Then I can agree, perhaps its better we choose one topic and we may discuss that instead. Since Im not responsible for what people ask, but I am to be blamed for Im repeating old info and nothing useful . See what I mean here? I have no issues in changing it or replace HoC with a topic or a info post that the community want to know more of. ALso since we been working on bugs, and some balance issues there have not been much news to discuss on a HoC, also since I get the same questions over and over, Its to be expected when we get new players, so as it may be usefull for new players old players may be a bit dissapointed. Opal go ahead and take over this one. |

Wow, if ever there was a case of NOT finding a smoking gun, this is it.
In an open forum Q&A session, the audience actually is responsible for the questions that get asked and don't get asked. If they keep asking the same thing, or variations on the same questions, there's not a lot a panel can do.
LOL. And I really did laugh out loud.
Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.
What are you talking about smoking gun?
And the forum is not open I have been in some of the HOCs you send your question to a MOD, And then the MOD may or may not give your question to Henrik or Henrik picks which one he wants to answer. And the HOCs I have been a party to he only answered the softball questions.
It's a MODERATED discussion. Which means they can pick and choose the questions they want to answer, and the poster is complaining that he never picks the questions that are tough, only regurgitates his used car salesman speech in order to get you to buy more into that sinking ship they call a game.
I think what the guys in the MO thread were saying that by having a moderated discussion Henrik is allowed to chose the easiest questions which allow him to promise most and answer least. Which been the case in most of HoC chats, sadly.
Hm strange that he seems to imply that the HoC is controlled by the questioners and then go on and say that since they have been working on bugs then there is nothing much to discuss about.
Buuut... didnt he just say it is for the questioneers to determine if there is a question to be asked?
We all know the truth here, this is not the questioneers who are in control. The HoC was/is a moderated questioning forum, meaning that they control exactly what to and what to not bring up.
My gaming blog
Odd sort of complaints here. I suppose any attempt to answer community questions will be sneered at by someone.
They aren't all softball although questions with an agenda behind them do tend to get screened out.
So what?
By all means tell them what you would like to see. I've had numerous PMs answered by Henrick regarding my own complaints and agenda.
Mortal's general intent and direction are both well known. Problems, yes. secrecy, no; at least not intentionally outside the normal limits of protecting paying customers.
For the record: I'm highly dissatisfied about various aspects of the game's direction. No one is leading me on, no one is shutting me up and no one is threatening to.
I may yet leave the game but there is nothing else like it to go to.....not yet anyway.
Its about me
I disagree, respectfully. Henrik is challenging the poster above saying "Hey, I answer everything, you guys just don't ask good questions" when we all know that's not true.
That said, the direction of the game is at this point, irrelevant. It's going right into the toilet, and over time seems to be going faster into it. We've gone through it before, but when you lack ethics, morals, and experience, the only choice you have is to sell like a used car salesman -- which is exactly what Henrik does at every turn. The great thing is of course, that he is forever immortalized in these forums and across the internet with the way he acts, so while he doesn't want to answer any hard questions in a stupid HoC chat, he will be held to account when this game goes into the toilet and he goes looking for a new job. Or of course, maybe his daddy will hire him.

Yeah, the problem with the HoCs was the freedom of speech, so so speak... Please understand I'm not bashing you here, I think the chats were a great initiative that didn't quite work out.
It tends to get very disorganized with a lot of people asking questions left and right, and I can imagine it must be pretty stressful trying to answer all of them at once. MMO communitites tend to be very opinionated and vocal, and every player has his own favourite issue he wants to discuss. Given the shortage of time, chats like these usually turns out to be pretty shallow.
I would prefer some kind of monthly update or bulletin, where you or some other dev answer frequently asked questions about the develeopment process and the near future of the game. Perhaps a single, heavily-moderated forum thread could be used to post the questions and concerns? There are a lot of good feedback and valid questions floating around the forums, buried beneath the daily spam and bs posts and largely ignored by the devs. It would feel better to provide focused feedback if we knew it will get some kind of response in the forseeable future.

Just thought I'd post the response from the person that Henrick was answering. Bataille did not seem to take offense, so why the need to come up with ways that Henrick answer could be insulting?
Henrik never ceases to amaze, he'll say just about anything.
I win!!! LOL@U
No he won't. He won't agree with you or with me, for example.
He certainly doesn't suffer fools though he is polite about it in public.
Its about me
What won't he agree with you on?

Unfortunately with the HOC they ignore relevant questions, they just answer fluff.
So don't care.
I challenge henrik, matts and seb to answer 10 questions of my choosing
Pretty much.
Blaming people who are curious about your product is stupid, if you don't like the whole QA stuff why even bother doing it in the first place.
It would be like Gabe Newell blaming the consumer for Episode 3 not getting done cause his lazy ass is to busy eating hotdogs and re-fried beans. Developers are so disrespectful to their consumers. It's like Derek Smarts popping up all over the place. Just less vending machines getting assaulted and more consumers getting stiffed is all.
When did you start playing "old school" MMO's. World Of Warcraft?
Everyone who are in the team of developing a game are cowards.
They don't face their mistakes and they are to scared of how people will react to the truth.
Believe it or not the truth always wins it may scare people and hurt people but in the end the truth is what wins. Lying to people over and over again will only cause mistrust and eventually hatred towards you.
If they keep bullshitting they will face consequences. Or they already are considering the game isn't going to go anywhere it's just going to die down. Karma's a bitch.
Kall me Kaideline over there ....
Its about me
Not really. He'll deny all of the 'issues' with the game that non-PK/PvP players claim
Which makes it a great PK game!
Its about me
The best part is that the professional PK/Griefers get eternal wristslaps by the SV staff for exploiting the carebears.
Very cool.

what he is sying is the questions asked during the hoc are asked by the community if you arent happy with trhe questions being asked then ask different ones.
there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.
-edit was a reply to a post by modrag which baiscally said my previous psot was not related to the topic. But his post was removed.
oh sorry i thought this topic was, "henrik blames the question askers", because basically henrik said if oyu dont like the questions being asked by the community during the hoc then the community should ask different questions. But obviously that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic. since this thread is obviously not "henrik blames the question askers"
there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.
