So as I stated before I was not sure if anyone would be stupid enough to bitch at Trion on the official forums for exploiting and then getting mad their account got rolled back. Oh, but internet gaming community never ceases to amaze me. Thus I present:

Hello John!
As you may know, a bug accompanying the introduction of PvP Rifts created an exploitable situation: Players were able to gain unfair advantages by amassing unintended amounts of Prestige, Favor, and Notoriety.
By taking advantage of this situation, your account has been noted for Exploitation, and we have since removed the related rewards-including currencies and the items they allowed you to obtain-for the following characters:

Please note that while we do consider this to be a serious matter (and thus, actionable under our Exploitation guidelines), we do not consider this to be an extremely malicious and/or egregious exploit. Consequences for taking advantage of a more serious exploit typically result in full character rollbacks and suspensions, in addition to removal of ill-wrought gains. Please understand that while this violation is designated as minor, any future such action(s) on your part shall be subject to further disciplinary action being taken against your account.
At this time, the underlying issue has been fixed. In the future, we would appreciate your vigilance when it comes to finding and reporting exploits and protecting gameplay integrity in RIFT. If you believe your related gains were mistakenly corrected, or if you have any other questions or concerns, please reply to this email-we would be happy to follow-up.

This makes me very happy. Going into a WF composed of a ton of really bad R8 gear folks was just sad.
Great, I'm glad all the exploiters are being punished for taking advantage of this bug, although not too severely...le sigh Its like, did you really think Trion wasn't monitoring this problem, and was just going to let you all get away with it!?
Just be glad that all you exploiters didn't have your account banned for such actions. If anything you all should have had a least an additional rank or 2 removed as well...
I got a kick out of the one poster that balked about having ranks removed even though he freely admitted using the exploit rather heavily because they took away a bit more than what he gained via exploiting.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
I don't play Rift (beta tested it, liked it, just wasn't my thing), but it is awesome to hear about them taking action like this. Good job on the devs.
