I played horizons back when it first came out for about 3 months, and decided to try it again due to all the positive hype I have been reading, but I cannot find any of the imperial task masters that used to be in the starting towns, any help on locating these guys? (I have the improved map and still cant find them)

I did the same thing. I guess they are about to revamp the tutorial / starter areas. New Brommel doesn't really have any task givers besides the class trainers. In Sslanis and Kion look for the Town Marshels and Trophy Hunters. In Sslanis they are in front of the vault building. These are the NPC's that take the place of the old Impirial wizard looking guy. They both give out task. Other then that you can talk to the Impirial Heralds or most class trainers for different task and quest. Im still pretty low level so I dont have to many specifics. Documentation online is almost non-exsistant as the remaining community hasn't done a very good job at upkeeping / supporting the game.
