GamersFirst has announced a deal with retail distributor, IGS, to bring APB Reloaded to North America. The purchase price has been announced as $29.99 with over $50 worth of in-game items, including a permanent in-game high-performance vehicle, a permanent in-game weapon and 30 days of premium access that provides increased cash rewards, reputation gains and a 20 percent in-store discount.
“GamersFirst has been looking for a partner who can help us revolutionize retail distribution for Free2Play games in North America. With IGS, we have found the perfect partner. Our pricing model for APB Reloaded actually pays a gamer to come try the game. This is unprecedented for a title which cost more than seventy million dollars to produce,” says Rahul Sandil, Senior Vice President of Marketing at GamersFirst. “The response from retail has been so overwhelming that we are considering launching with a half-million units,” adds Rahul.

Sweet! A chance to buy the same game again! I did enjoy it the first time...
i thought APB: Reloaded was F2P ? why pay $30 for a F2P game? with $50 ingame weapon ... no thx
yeah as an APB player thats what I am confused about with this announcement.
They did this with Runes of Magic too. The box for the game just states that it's in game items. But it's very, VERY improperly worded on the box. So an unsuspecting person who didn't know the game was free could potentially end up buying the box to play it. It doesn't say anywhere on the box it's free, it doesn't say anywhere on the box what items you are getting for buying the box. I really hope it's better done than runes of magic. I really really do.
My god these assholes know no bounds. They actually want money for a game literallt that rivals counterstrike in sheer volume of hackers.
It..Burns..
They aren't saying it's B2P now. You just can buy a boxed version with items in it.
Let's support a game that no one cares about. Sheesh, atleast try and fix the game before you find a distributor for your crappy overpriced item shop.
I struggle not with life, money, emotions, and world, but against old mindsets and selves to be proven obsolete in a age and time of rapid changes. Go create fun, so you can have fun.
is it really worth getting it early than later when they haven't boxout the hackers
No one can give a "hacker" free game ...no one.Mind you they used the most hacked engine EVER and are doing a pretty good job of banning hackers ( right now they can just come back but when it launches there will be hardware bans) will see how it turn's out.
These comments really shows the average internet-IQ must be below 84.
1. The game is F2P, u get 50$ for 30$ in items you normally have to buy... (if this still doesn't ring a bell, that's 20$ you receive for free = profit)
2. Getting killed usually means the opposing team is better, it's not always hacks.
Although APB:R has a fair amount of 'hackers' (read scriptkiddies), they are getting banned at a decent rate, if you come across hackers, report them instead of crying. 'hackers' never win in the long term.
I still enjoy this game, even with it's current flaws. There is yet to be a better alternative. (don't you start about GTA, this is not GTA and never will be or vice versa)
G1 is doing a damn well job in bringing back the game i love the most.
news flash name a game that comes close to apb with hackers that wants payments..
It..Burns..
News flash I will keep my $30 dollars and put it towards Battlefield 3 which doesnt have a cash shop.
I agree! APB would be ok if you never ran into hackers and the cash shop was not a "P2W" affair. There is no "free" in this (or any other) free-to-play offering.
Let's party like it is 1863!
Fair warning. The game is full of aimbotters and wallhackers, and the admins don't care. Also the community is quite bad. I daresay far worse than any other mmorpg I have ever played. The game can be fun if you happen to be playing against legit players, but it is a rarity.
"For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed:
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!"
~Lord George Gordon Byron
people client mod in APB. which is harder to detect and ban.. dispite what people claim wall hacking is pretty popular in APB. as it lets u see where everyone is, then you have over powered weapons as well.
its fun off and on though, you get the odd decent match which can be pretty fun. but most of the time APB will make you rage
I agree. I get tons of kills and wins with the starter guns and I see no reason anybody would hate on this game.
It's a good game and even though it may not be your cup of tea some people do enjoy it.
When did this website become a slam pit where everygame that ever comes out sucks dick if it's not exactly what this small niche crowd of nay sayers, over hypers, and fanbois want.
Hackers is its main prob and I don't see that changing.
its the matchmaking thats is messed up imo , and i think walmart still has the first apb on its shelves
Hackers everywhere and the producer (John Neume) has done nothing to push the game forward.
edit: played since RTW. Hacks/aimbots worse than then. I have reported numerous hackers only to see them create new accounts. Game is completely unplayable in its current form unless you hack.

Otherwise, this game is just like WarRock (in terms of hackers).
You can pickup a working title and re-think it in the short term and still lose. This is sadly the case. I hope thier cash in was worth the loss. We the game com. don't forget soon enough. The lack of support and care of hackers shows the lack of investment.
Its no different to what was done with Crime Craft Bleedout. CC was already F2p and the first episode of Bleedout was free too. The Bleedout pack gave you the game client, 60 days of first tier paid game time (game has 2 tiers of subs), some ingame items, and the first 3 bleedout episodes (handed out at one per 7 days) for the price they asked.
As for APB the game is good, they did screw up Royal with patch 1.5.2 and broke the matchmaking and threat systems however those are now fixed. Matchmaking is good but not perfect, backup call in system still needs some work.
The free Default assault rifle is fine and I still use it even at Rank 175. You can also hire other weapons for 10 days at a time with a small fee. The only cash shop item I have seen that is even repotely P2Win is the OCA whisper and that is only because it is silenced which makes it feel OP (yes I hired it for 30 days to try).
Beyond that the game is quite good, if you like the GTA series you will most likely love APB:R
Cheaters (some mistakenly call them hackers) are still a problem though, just like in Crime Craft (though in APB its not as bad since it doesnt have headshots like in CC). Not sure how they intend to address that pretty much every F2P online shooter has a cheating problem.
I'm confused how anyone could still think this game was even worth thinking about
too many hackers, i am not going to buy this.
