Mesmer
Here I am thinking the last professionw as leaked and you give us this ? Someone tie the op's hands so he can't post anymore!
Nice attempt, it was the !!!! that got my attention...
TOugh a bit dissapointed in the OP, i tought everyone by now knew it will be a Mezmer with a twist...
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
I assume it must be a mesmer or some class using mental powers. It's a unquie and important power aspect to the Guild Wars world so I'd be pretty surprised if they left it out.
I'll post naked photos of myself on Facebook if it's not, I'm that confidant. No other profession makes sense.
I think it won't be a mesmer exactly but some variant of it. After all is Queen Jenna a mesmer, but I think it will vary from the mesmers in GW1. More focus on illusions.
"edge of destiny" gave out some hints.
Pretty sure it's going to be Mesmer.
Surely with some twist - maybe he'll be melee-focused ?
Classes work differently than in GW1 - you got bunch of weapons - it must work with them, if they give him sword, he must be useful with it.
In other words, Mesmer, but vastly different from the one in GW1
Well it will play differently for sure, although I think the theme of the profession will be similar to GW1.
It will be *called* mesmer. It can't not be. It simply has to be, based on everything.
Now, all classes can melee and fight at range, so daggers or swords makes sense, but probably not heavy weapons. Maybe pistols or something too, in addition to caster weapons.
What we don't know, and what they may well not have figured out, is how the mechanics will work. Interrupts and hexes are said to play a lesser part, so what's a mesmer to do?
And everyone, and I mean everyone, who has been following the game, knows it's mesmer. Anet is just messing with us at this point. The tongue in cheek is funny for them, to say "we won't tell you yet" with a wink wink nudge nudge. You know what I mean?
"Gamers will no longer buy the argument that every MMO requires a subscription fee to offset server and bandwidth costs. It's not true you know it, and they know it." Jeff Strain, co-founder of ArenaNet, 2007
WTF? No subscription fee?
Well there not being hexes in the game changes it but I don't think that makes a difference. Everything is just called conditions now anyway, so the hexes in gw1 would work the same but just be classified as a condition.
What will be a much bigger difference is energy denial and interrupts. That was a key component of Mesmer gameplay in gw1. Energy and energy denial is irrelevant in GW2 and interrupts have taken on a much lesser role.
Mesmer, but I think it may be called The illusionist unless they really want to stick to the name Mesmer.
I’m hoping for the *Mesmer* as well.
One twist they might add could be related to the Chronomancer from the unreleased Utopia expansion, http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_Utopia#Professions, allowing the *Mesmer* to gain speed bursts for himself and his allies and also slowing down the enemies attack and movement speed. The Mesmer already has skills allowing for something somewhat like that in GW, so why not enhance it?
Also the possibility of debuffing enemies so that they hurt themselves when attacking others is also still viable as well as direct domination damage abillities.
They have said the last profession is a returning profession from GW1 with the same name and the actual name mesmer is mentioned in both novels. It will be named Mesmer, it will have the Mesmer flavor but it will be quite different in mechanics I predict, mainly because Anet has said that it's reveal will be controversial.
Well send me pm with them haha. But yeah i agree... it must be mesmer-like profession. Well but if its not im wainting for pictures
Actually when i think about it I think it's going to be Assassin !
I think Illusionist mesmer rit combo
i pray that its a mesmer with martial arts prowess. or just a martial artist class
Mesmer.
Maybe like creating illusions of itself, like dodging back and leaving a copy of yourself to take the damage. Also send an illusion out to copy an attack you just used. I'm really cannot wait to see the last proffession, i just hope i won't get disappointed.
Monk!
With all of the hints that we have been given throughout all of the interviews that Arena Net has done (like the interview about the Engineer with [please correct me if I am wrong] a German gaming site at the very end with the emphasis with their "MINDS" being blown away) and the clues in the novel with Queen Jennah being referred to as a Mesmer, and mesmers being mentioned numerous times in the novels, there is a strong chance Mesmers will be the final profession. However, since they have not clearly set in stone what the profession will be, we should not make subjective statements that we are 100% positive that it is the Mesmer. However, we can be confident in the information provided that it will most likely be the Mesmer, given that we have been indentifying the right clues, which excites every bone in my gaming body!
Yeah lol. They will shout 'Got ya!' and release a dedicated healing prof anyway
Mesmer with a twist? A twist of what? Lemon?
