Jedi tanking...

How does Guardian tanking compare to Shadow tanking?

I just love a mobile tank, that charges all over the place, interupting everyone .... Somehow with the Jedi knight force leap i think Guardian tanking will be much more active then Shadow tanking....  Shadow tanking might depend on pulling people with the force to their own location...

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Can't really say, there's not enough info to speculate much. But your right that the guardian is likely to be much more mobile as a tank. Shadows will tank using force powers more, minus the force leap, of course. The game seems very tactical with some builds being heavy tanks and marauder and sentinel builds, for example, able to do a good deal of off tanking.

Edit: With so many ranged opponents it's not like WoW in that you can just group them all up then aoe them down. Most of the fights I've seen tend to be spread out.

Just my 2 cents; I'm tired of WoW tanking.  I've tanked everything since the opening of Molten Core in '05.  I'm looking forward to "range tanking" with a BH!  It's going to be something completely new for me, and that's what I'm looking for in SWTOR :)

couple things so far ive seen in difference between jedi guardian tanking against  jedi shadow tanking

is that guardian tanking goes with mitigating damage , much like normal tanking, but with the addition of giving some one your protecting mitigation protection up to 50 percent, so guarding a healer to keep them up or a dps to help thing deal more damage abit longer could be a possible viable tool for pvp, also im yet to see a question if  2 guards gives a dpser their migitation protection if  it stacks keeping them up twice as longer when taking damage.

shadow tanking is more of reflective..or i think lots of parrying and dodging, i do not believe they have the same ability of sharing tank mitigation to others much like a jedi guardian however.

Yes shadow tanks have a guard ability exactly like SW and JG
