One of the most closely guarded secrets finally came to light during last week's Gamescom. Carbine Studios and NCSoft finally revealed WildStar and MMORPG.com's John Milburn was on hand to grab some face time with Chad Moore. Check out our sweet interview with Moore and then add a few of your thoughts about WildStar in the comments.
Which area in WildStar do you feel is the most breathtaking to look at?
There's a whole bunch of areas. One of the cool things about being an explorer is that you usually end up on the top of mountains and the like, so the more you do that, the more you get access to it. There's a really pretty zone just after the newbie area we're showing on the show floor which has big mountains, and low gravity, which takes big chunks of the ground which are floating around.

Answer so chris Hager-like
I definitely want to try this game, that being said describing it as "Firefly like" makes me want to hire Jubal Early to go track down this guy. Not one thing I've seen in this game reminds me of Firefly. Which is unfortunate.
This game looks promising. Will definitely be keeping up to date on it.
I'm confused. Are there two different Chris Hager one for Wildstar and another for TERA? Or is he the same guy for both??
You have my attention...

"there's a western space vibe with the game that's FireFly style"
I LOVE FIREFLY! This game looks promising, and that cinematic trailer is so awesome that people are asking for cartoon network tv series on it.

My Guild Wars titles
At first sight (maybe 2 weeks ago) I literally LOL'd at this, and dismissed it completely as a possible game to play. But I must admit , the more of it I see the more interested I am becoming.. Its still very early, and that was a seriously bland and uninformative interview (not blaming the interviewer, just the beat around the bush, generic answers) My favorite being
"What we're trying to do is think where your character will be multiple years after launch and tailor content and plans around that. We have a really strong commitment to the future of the game. We listen to our players." Hmmm, sounds familiar.
Not seeing a lot of Firefly in this, but the sexy bunny girls will keep me watching for more. Not enthused by hearing about more raid content though. I'm skeptical about their notion of depth meaning anything other than join a raiding guild or learn to love being locked out of a big chunk of the game. Scientist class sounds intriguing though.

I loved the Space Quest games!
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
Looks and sounds absolutely pants.
It's nice to see someone -- finally -- talk about meaningful endgame content for solo players. I hope it's good.
I'm very sick of the crap that greets players at the end of most MMOs: "... Welcome, player, to the max-level raid or rep grind phase of our game, aka the endgame".
Anime grinder garbage.
Anytime you see a female cat-human character you can pretty much throw it in the trash heap.
NEXT!
This game sounds like a single player game?
My gaming blog
First thing that jumped to my mind was "Firefly" when I saw the trailer. My wife picked up on it also. This game looks like pure fun.
Finally? Every MMO I can remember in the past 3-4 years the devs are always talking about how "hard they are working and highly focused on end game" Its like the most by the book generic vague response ever. I mean some games have terrible end game, some have good end game, some have none at all... But they sure "worked" on it, and "listened" to their players lol
They used some twangy guitar in the music to give it that Firefly taste, I think, and I doubt that was an accident.
Then they crap all over anythign Firefly about it the second they whip out the furry fetish cat chick...
This game is starting to shape up as a great game which i am sure ti will be almost all onf Ncsoft published games are great

If you take it all out of context I suppose you could walk away feeling this way, but if you've read up on the game at all the "like firefly" comment makes more sense in regards to the setting, but they've clearly also listed a number of Anime titles as their art inspiration. I guess I just take "Like firefly" to mean you know "like", but not the exact same thing. Firefly had no aliens in it, kind of hard to make a MMO these days with just humans unless the IP specifically calls for it.
Do you have mini-games within the game?
Chad Moore:
In a way the game is already based around mini-games. What I mean with this is that in combat there are so many ways it can be 'solved' such as dodging, crowd control (stunning), double jump out and we just keep adding more and more to this. At higher level bosses for instance, there's a ground ripple coming towards you, and you need to jump over it. There's a vortex that start sucking you in, so you can't use your movement skills so instead have to try other things to avoid it. I feel that the game provides several small 'mini games' at the same time and it really sucks you in.
Although trying to sound like there making the game different from everyone else to me its all been done , from the above quote
Dodging , Crowd Control , Jumping , Vortex sucking you in ? I have seen this in many many MMO . & anotherthing that concerns me is the quote " Not just reputation Grinding Much more actual fun stuff - but yeah there is rep grinding
All they have said was that it was based upon a single planet with its defenses gone. Where does the space part of this come in? Is it just sci-fi anime or are they going to produce multiple worlds with space flight between them.. Until I hear that they will do something like that I will just say that their trailer was purdy but thats about it.
I think I prefer these graphics over phot real. Is there name for this type of graphics?

Well from the in-game footage I've seen it reminds me of the stylized approach WoW took, just updated a bit.

Looks like you'll be playing a stylized cartoon, gameplay is sounding rather solid.
