Your favourite class...

Whats your favourite class so far in all MMO's you played this far...

From a very long list: Enchanter(EQ), Mentalist(DAoC) Healer(DAoC), Bonedancer(DAoC), Sorcerer(DAoC), Bloodmage(Vanguard), Warden(Lotro), Mesmer(GW), Shadowknight(EQ2)

I finally came to the conclusion that i personally liked my undead warrior Tank from WoW most.....   Because of how many options the class had, actually it was not only the fact of being a tank and leading the group that made me love this guy...  But also the fact that for every problem the thrown at the class there was a solution, most of the times even more...

What was your favourite MMO class so far?

(yes i know a post like this must have been done a 1000 times, but there are allways people willing to share their toughts in posts like this)

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

I always have fun with a Rogue class, but I quite enjoyed the mage with a ice spec in wow.

Anarchy Online "Bureaucrat" class, when you have a charm mob spell called "the voice of god", nukes called "pinkslip" and "workplace depression" you don't need much else. So much awesome in that class.

When i was like 11 i went over to my friends house and this was burning crusade and i knew nothing about mmo's and didnt know wtf was happening and he had like 3 lvl 70 and one was a druid.... i played the druid and i was walking around and just discovering and even though i wasnt really "playing" the game it was the best experiance i ever had...

Reaver (DAOC) Tops the list for me. It could tank and heal itself decently. It was an amazing pvp character aswell, you could kill like 30 people at once with the Reaver Bomb, I think you needed at least Realm Rank 5 to do a mini Reaver Bomb though but very easy to get if you ran around in the lab for a few days with some cool people. It was no slouch for pve either.

For WoW I had an 80 Enh / Resto Shaman, 80 Prot / Ret Pali, 80 Afflic / Destro Lock, 80 Feral / Resto Druid, 80 Mage switched specs on that one a lot got my Dk to 80 but never geared him in icc so it doesnt really count and 80 Disc / Shadow Priest. And after all that I wished everyday that I could transfer my Reaver to WoW lol.

Actually it's a close one between my jedi pre- jump to light speed SWG and the Reaver. Damn, the Sorcerer from Aion was pretty nice too. /Sigh It's so hard to just pick 1.

I'll throw it to the wind and troll it! The Wizard from Nwn is my fav for sure. A healthy level 20+ Wizard in any Nwn campaign maybe with 2 levels of fighter mixed in there for tons of feats etc.

    "LOL"

    Droid Engineer/Pikeman/Merchant combo in SWG

I know that it probably doesn't count because it's not an MMO, and it's more towards a specific build then anything, but an Assassin/Elementalist is the funnest class/combo that I've played. Using skills like earthquake and aftershock the toon would punch the ground and everything around him would fall down and take damage. It was noisy, made big clouds of dust, and was alot of fun.

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.

I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.

I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.

I like to play the class that is the least represented.

I'll tell you what I don't like to play, though... Paladins. :| (or any Paladin-esque class)

I really dislike them... and typically the people who play them, too.

They seem rather pretentious. Especially the tanks.

It was my Shadowknight from Everquest 1, far and away. The Shadowknight just wasn't as much fun in EQ 2, and neither was the Death Knight in Wow or whatever it was called in Vanguard. You could do a little bit of everything, from tanking, to buffing, self healing, debuffing, feign death, utility or DPS (Harm Touch). Shadowknights were not the best class at any thing, but they were certainly a fun class to play.

sounds like you just have a case of "im gonna do what everyone else doesn't cause i wanna feel like im unique and i dont really have any personal attachment to the class im playing"

anyway my favorite is between either Rogues or Spellcasters(warlock variety). I like both equally much in a game that presents them both fairly well, like WoW. To bad most games either make the spellcasters horridly OP or horribly useless(due to 1hit kills) or make the rogues completely inept(bad stealth mechanics among others) or just mediocre.

Shadowknight/Cleric (EQ).....and a healer class in all the other billion MMO's I have played and am not going to list.

Summoner , kind like the old magician from Eq but would love to see the skill from Aion (good ideas , but the skills scale so poorly :( ) ,or blood pacts (FFXI) ....

summoners are a PET CLASS first ...but devs think that puting a pet clas + some lame dots make a good summoner ....no no no , we need to use the pet more than any other thing :D

but pets are usually just "visual dots" , some have skills but are on "auto-mode" , like wow (hunter , lock) , or Rift to put a few examples....pets are there just to tank , or to dps the mobs while the "master " puts 0 effort on it....

in aion or FFXI , is the master that orders the pet to use some skills ....thats wheres the fun imo :D

But nowadays i only play tank classes (love tanking ) , Sk model is my favorite , lifedrains and dots :D

Rifleman SWG, played it from day one to the NGE.

Also Creature Handler, actually training/raising pets was cool.

    GW: Ranger/Elementalist

    EQ2: Inquisitor, SK, Troubadour

    EQ1: Shaman

I've played many other F2P MMO's and while I had fun, wasn't the best experience.  These were the most fun for me, especially the ranger in GW.  I'm currently having a blast playing that character.

Do you want some cheese with that whine? :)

The Witch Elf and Witch Hunter from WAR. Pure PVP DPS goodness.  And the Orc Tank from WAR. Being able to actually be a tank and not have players clip through me was awesome. Loved the dynamic of all of those.

I have always liked a very standard pffensive warrior type of class. Heavy armor, variety of melee weapons and abilities, strong defensive abilities. Unfortunately most MMOs lately have been messing around with this class, either making it into a glass cannon or making you too reliant on others to kill anything. Kill in 3 seconds or die in 3 seconds, rather than have prolonged fights that are actually intresting.

I think my favorite class was actually Tyrant in Lineage 2.

It was a plain direct damage class, but then again it was also a class full of neat tricks, like runspeed.

    Everquest: Necromancer

    Everquest 2: Fury

Vanguard: Shaman Hayatet god I so much loved it

    Aion: Cerlic

    War: Zealot

    WoW: Hunter

    UO: Magican

We need a MMORPG Cataclysm asap, finish the dark age of MMORPGS now!

About the Vanguard Blood Mage: many people love it, but personally I feel is too much about damage only. You redirect damage and you suck damage and you manipulate damage and ... dammit, its a healer, but even the healing is just damage redirection ! Most of the time, anyway.

Blood Mage is the only mage in Vanguard that cant kite. They actually have to "tank" mobs when solo. As they have no armor and no shield, their chance of reducing the damage is pretty low.

Blood Mage does really good damage, but lord their spells are slow. I really enjoy the speed of my sorcerer in comparison, that guy gets instant spells that do massive carnage. And naturally, with nearly no evasion, Blood Mages get disrupted a lot when solo.

Blood Mage only gets few real tricks, like levitation (but only as a symbiote so you need the items AND you have to forfeit any othe symbiote effect, as a player can only have one symbiote buff at a time) and invisibility (self only).

Blood Mages have to sacrifice large parts of their saddlebag for their crafting ingredients (brains etc) in order to be prepared for prolonged raiding or adventuring sessions (needs to be able to make new symbiotes).

So yeah, BM is certainly a nice class, but IMHO a bit dull really.

Many classes in Vanguard are very fun, but there is nothing like Tyrant. A direct damage class that has some neat magic tricks in the backhand. Closest to that in Vanguard is maybe Monk. Still very different. Disciples compare of course well, except Tyrant is a glass cannon, while Disciples are kind of Vanguards version of godmode.

All in all Vanguard classes are amazing. Certainly better than anything else I've encountered so far in any game. Even Paladins, usually a really dull class, are full of complexity.

The brigand from EQ2 is my favorite class ever.  It is the perfect solo class, the damage is great.  Plus I managed to spec it so I could actually be a tank for a moderate size group.  My crowning achievement was tanking for a 50th level raid zone as a brigand.  I was really happy with my performance.  Plus I had a great group that was continuously spot on!

Being unique makes me attatched to my class.

Being like everyone else distances me from the class.

    It's not rocket science.

Sounds like you don't really know what you're talking about.

Most games I lean to a healer class but the DK in WOW is one of my favorites. A multiclass like the druid in WOW  is among my favorites as well. Looking forward to the Jedi Consular class in SWTOR. Dragon char with healing in TSW. Don't know yet for GW2. I plan to play in all 3 games.
