Server Populations..OMG

I logged on at around 11:30pm saturday night, and there were 3 light populated servers, 3 medium, and the rest were heavy, moderately heavy, or extrtemely heavy. Anyone else noticed this?

*boggle* havent seen them that high in almost a year

It's been like this for the past 3 weeks or so now. Anyone taking bets on how long it is before they start adding servers again at this rate?

Well this is a game based on one of the biggest franchise in history.We recently had episode 3.And TV ads.

I have recently started afresh in SWG but simply for the all access account.I think if they do things right they can make it to the 1m mark even.

Honestly if not for the poor launch,jedi craze and the numerous inital mistakes this game could have easily passed the 1m mark long ago.

Yep, for the last few weeks. Yet you still have people posting that the game is dieing and servers are at an al time low. I just read a comment this morning that the only ones that are still playing the game are a few people that don't want to lose all their time invested into their accounts.

However this new boom has its concerns to me as well. Such as LA and SOE taking this as approval of the current state of the game. As sluggish and lazy as the SWG team is I can see that happening. Hopefully all the new people coming in will be sharp enough to see the problems that are still there and expect continued change as we have seen so far this year.

This is really since Pub 17. I do not think they show the number of people currently on the server, but more to the number of characters created on the server. They show my server as Extremely Full but to signon most all places are ghost towns.

i doubt it's nubmer of characters created per server. SWG hass sold a lot of retail copies and a lot of people have tried it out at one time or another. every single server would show very heavy traffic if that were case.

i think it really is player populations, i know i've seen a lot more people on. the reason a lot of towns are empty is because most players are in the hubs or actually out doing things during double xp week. it's plain to see just from travelling around that there are more people logged on these days.

There are definitely more people on. Even Endor has lots of people on it (and that's NORMALLY a planet where NOBODY goes). Yavin IV... same thing... Dath... Tat... Lok... everwhere I go I'm running into tons more players than usual. Actually the traditional 'hubs' seem less densely populated because people are spreading out. A lot of PA's are hunting out of their own cities now that missions are fixed too. And a lot of people are on Kashyyk or in space with the new missions/content.

And, yes, double XP week has people out in droves.

Hehe, except the creature handlers who totally are getting the bone during double experience week currently.

The drama the MMORPG community insists on enbroiling itself in really makes me laugh sometimes.

Even if Sony adds more servers to handle the new heavy player base that haters would then start raving that they are just doing it to make the game look like its still staying alive and all the towns are actually ghost towns. I love it, I hope they keep riding the SWG is dead horse for a very long time while I enjoy the new boom in players.

As to the Creature Handler problem:
I know this sounds painful but you may want to consider nuking those bugged critters so that you can at least enjoy your creature handler. God knows how long it'll be before the Devs get around to fixing that particular glitch.

I know it sounds rough but the creature handlers in my PA don't have any problems at all and are enjoying the double xp just as much as the rest of us. But they didn't have any bugged creatures because they didn't have any of the 10,000 ham BE'd creatures before CU.

Hehe, no no. There is a new bug my friend. All CH's pets act as CL 1 at the moment due to publish 19. I will post a link to the thread in a few minutes.

hrm.... that's odd I wonder why Natira wasn't complaining last night. I'll mention it to her. Maybe she didn't notice because we were killing things so fast (had 2 groups working together)... I'll let her know to keep her pets put away for now. Luckily she is a Master Pistoleer as well so she's not totally gimped by this. I did notice that a Dev has already replied to the thread so hopefully they'll emergency patch it asap.

Ya, Cygnia found out real fast when she went to solo last night and her 2 pets dropped like a sack of potatoes on her from a few mobs.

She is really upset about it, she was trying to use double experience week to really get ahead and she loves animals. So her being CH was kinda an extension of her zoo she has at home for real and now all her babies are babies again! hehe. She is also worried about how long they will be fixing this one, its obvious that they are never gonna fix the other issue so he is gonna have to kill some pets that are kinda special to her.

For now she has to fight CL 80 stuff as CL 40 which blows as it does for all creature handlers.

How long have you been playing the game exactly? Are you speaking of PA's being ghost towns? PA's have ALWAYS been ghost towns because people don't hang in them, they are out playing the game. If you are speaking of NPC cities well, I am sorry, but everyone else here is saying their servers are filling up, yet you are on the lone server that has a false server population report showing? What server did you say you are on?

How long have I been playing? Since the last part of final beta. PA's. yes have been ghost towns for some time. But also cities such as Moenia, Theed, Bestine, Mos Eisley, Coronet and others are also extremely empty most any time I sign in. Server Bloodfin.

Retired, yes. Just selling off the rest of my stuff and cleaning out the bank is the only reason I sign on.
