Also, they made it clear that it is first come, first serve. The earlier you got your access code in the earlier you would be in game.

I think people forget how much of a cult favourite this whole franchise is and the interest it is garnering. Of course collector's editions will sell in the beginning .Collectors always get up and wait three days in queue so you really think they will not be the first to order the game. Nope all within the parameters and this is why this game will mint money. Do not know how long the game itself will stay highly populated but it will be very very busy in the beginning.

Oh dear Dogma .Perhaps in future you should not be so quick to call others stupid. Goodness me I feel awful for you.

Most people who get the standard edition get it through the SWTOR site. Amazon was also given a tremendous amount of CE keys which is why so many are buying the CE there... Everywhere else is sold out.

I think that explains it. I'm sure standard edition is outselling the CE.

The only code you bought was a "CE pre-order" code.   This code does NOTHING to give you the CE items.  Only the retail key contained inside the CE box will give you in game CE content.   The code you have gives you head start access, but that's all.

You just threw away $20 because you could have pre-ordered the standard edition and have the same head start for free.

You won't get any CE items at launch.    Someone is enjoying your $20 very much.

Edit : I've bought the CE, and the only code I have is the pre-order one. The only other code I am expecting is the CE game code. There is *no* way someone has an 'item' code at this point in time, if there is one at all that is seperate from the game code.

Exactly..all they send you...e.g. Amazon (where I ordered mine) is a pre-order code to enter on your account. This is good for getting you into some pre-events (at the least  the early access I believe). I just got an invite to test this weekend for example. The bonus codes ..including the gamekey itself ..come when you get your actual game or are sent to you via email on release/early access date. They have to do it this way..otherwise anyone ordering off amazon would  have everything already by entering one key and could just cancel their pre-orders (since amazon doesn't charge until  the game ships).

It does sound like someone got shafted...and it wasn't the people who purchased the CE. My belief is that some criminal entrepreneur has apparently  setup a bunch of pre-orders on amazon...collected the pre-order keys 5 minutes later via email...cancelled all his pre-orders...then proceeded to sell the useless keys for $20.00 each on ebay...and someone fell for it. People are horrible.

People are stupid. I've bought the CE bonus codes for 20US on Ebay(and claimed them right away foc), and preordered the normal edition.

so for 70US you get the same ingame benefits as with the CE, except the real life junk they give you and honestly the stupid sith statue is not worth 80 bucks...

Think you are the stupid one here , you only get to keep the ce stuff if you actualy get the retail CE box when its out otherwise your ce preorder items cannot be claimed at launch ;)

Oh my, that CE code he bought for $20.00, I wonder if he realizes that in order for the person he bought it from to NOT be charged the full amount for the game, he has to cancel his order before it is available for download or shipped from the retailer, and then the code goes *poof*.  There goes his early access.  There goes his bonus pre-order items.  Disappears like a puff of smoke!  LMFAO!!!  Heck, they have probably already been canceled.  HAAAAAAaaaaaa!

Good job having to paying $80.00 for what should have been your $60.00 game!

It just occured to me . . . At least the money I put down for the game comes out of the total cost for my game.  His is added to it.  Buahahahahahahaaaaaa!

I bet he'll still get early access...as long as the code is on the TOR account. I guarantee amazon won't contact Ea/Bioware with everyone that cancelled. What a nightmare. That person will just not be able to log in after the game releases...because that requires the keycode from the product itself. A similar thing happened to me with STO and another retailer.. I cancelled because they never sent me a keycode ...4 days into headstart I asked them to refund my money as I had not recieved the key. 2days later I was refunded and an hour after that they sent me a product key.I entered it and  I was still able to play STO even after I cancelled my order. If I cared too..I could subscribe and log on to STO at any time having never "paid" for the box. They never made my key go "poof" or reported it to Cryptic and if I log into my account it will still show the keycode as activated. I did play for a few weeks but ended up feeling guilty and haven't logged on since. Since all the CE stuff from that is in the store for purchase now I feel less guilty . So much for exclusives in STO.

If you cancell you pre-order i think you still keep the early acsess code if its bound to your swtor account

Nope.  It was already anounced that if you cancel, you loose everything!

Ouch that sucks lol. i pre-ordered the digital deluxe version but i dont plan on canceling

Depends on when you cancel I'd imagine. If you get in the beta or testing phases...play then cancel before they set a date or amazon charges you..then the code still served it's purpose.

I will never understand the concept of CE. A piece of pewter, a rag, and a few  audio tracks...with some fluff in game pyxels..... for 3x the price of the standard product . None of which change my experience with the product. Really... This is almost a measure for how goofy I think people can be.

Nope...don't get it. Never got it, Never will.

It's for making money, i already sold 3 for $250-285. That is solid profit and once i sold them all i will get the regular edition and play for free for at least a year. You know what they say,

As I stated before, they already told us that if the preorders get cancelled, you loose out on everything.  Even if he does somehow manage to get into the early access though, he paid $20.00 for a weeks early access?  Buahahahahaaaaaaa!

Star Wars came out in the 80's (approximately 20 years ago) generally the "hardcore" fans are a bit older, passionate, and have more disposable income.

All of these led to better sales for the CE, that's my guess anyways.

That's an over-simplification of what you get in a CE box. People who buy fine art (and I'm not comparing SWTOR statuettes to fine art, just using it as an example) aren't just buying a piece of cloth with some paint on it. People who buy cars aren't just buying a bit of shaped metal, rubber and plastic. The items in the CE box have actual value, and aren't meant to change the game experience, but are meant to be just what they are: added extras for people who like to collect things.

That's okay that you don't get it, a lot of people don't, but it doesn't make the people who assign value to those items silly. Is everything you can't understand automatically labeled as goofy in your world?

No. Your last question is an over simpification of my statement.

I do not find everything I do not understand silly.

I find some things I do not understand silly because of the properties of those things. I outlined those properties of this thing in my statement. These properties and this thing were less than everything, thus my statement in it's original state answers your last question.

Enjoy your CE edition. And thank you for investing in a game I want to play.
