come back from 5 days with no power to find out got a testing invite. thank you for the early birthday present Bioware (which is tomorrow)
Happy Birthday gaou!
EDIT: Also, reminder to everyone else: If you're in the test the only thing you are allowed to say is that you are in the test. Please do not provide any impressions (positive or negative) based on your experiences or accounts of other testers' experiences. This includes media and any game material. Thanks!
personally i suggest people check http://www.swtor.com/tester rather than their email to see if they have been invited since the invite can easily end up in the spam folder(such as mine did XD)

I check mine daily, no luck though.
Didn't even get a weekend event invite. I'm so tired of waiting for an invite, while I watch people sell unused invites/bioware accounts on third party sites. These random systems are absurd.

Grats on both Gaou!! My friend go an invite this weekend as well.
I can feel your anger. This game is defenseless. Take your weapon. Strike this game down with all of your hatred, and your journey towards towards the Dark Side will be complete.
I did my first flashpoint the other day and it was epic. I am not one who raids at all, but damn it was awesome, i didnt even realize i was doing a flashpoint until i was about halfway through, and if the 1st one is any indication of how the rest of the game is i am stoked *and this coming from a sandbox lover like eve and swg*.
Maybe because you never tried raiding before thats why it is awesome? :P You just had misconception of raiding xD
anyways enjoy
Actually that wasn't a raid at all...
Operations = raids
Flashpoints = group dungeons.
So that aren't exactly the same thing.
Well he/she referred to raiding, thats why I said it.
well i never really done many raids, last one was crushboine keep in eq2 :P I dont have alot of experience raiding since i mainly played swg and eve, but whatever it was, was alot of fun
well if it makes anyone feel any better i signed up for beta testing in 2008 when the site came up......
This is to let other players know, I too signed up in 2008 and haven't received anything yet, so it must be a random thing or the spec of your computer system (keep in mind).
I think it is completely random, I signed up in 07 (my forum tag says sept 2011) and I indeed got the beta invite, it could be system specs or birthdate or whatever, I dunno.
I'm actually not going to play this to death, I tend to avoid doing that in betas because it would spoil my first time playing the game after release. I got out of the starting area and got to know the UI, that's about it, I barely did any stories or quests, but I did hang out in the cantina and partied it up.

i believe that is something that is suppose to fall under the nda, as i have seen stephen reid tell people on twitter that have mentioned it really? sheesh everything is so secretive these days. I just wanted to know so I could decide whether to sign up or not. It's big, like most games these days, if you have a good internet connection then you shouldn't have a problem- I was downloading it at 1.8MB/sec and it only took a couple hours.
Didn't they say that they'll be ramping up invites gradually throughout September and that they should be able to invite everybody who applied to beta in by the end of September? At least, that's the takeaway I got from recent interview with a tor developer.
My vid card could play all the current games @ 1920x1080 with decent settings.
I tried to set it in this game and it crashed my computer 4 times, to where I had to power off.
Just moving the sliders even. Fourth time was too much and my card died. Now that was because of my card, not the game.
But it is a beast to get any decent settings on a decent card.
Now we know they don't invite people based off their computers.
So it is random like ppl say, all the information we gave them was just a waste of time. Argh bastards .
Actually no it wasn't. Because they keep metrics of this, if the game keeps crashing on lower level system or certain cards they can tweak it a bit to see if they can get it working.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.
Any body running it with a gtx 580 ? , wondering if this mmo uses a gpu since alot of mmo engines use mostly cpu power so would be awesome to finaly see a mmo where my card can do some work and not just cpu .

Thanks Mike and everyone else.
Everytime I check my email for a SWTOR beta invite the more crushed I become. Damn you Bioware and your beta invite system. DAMN YOU!!!

You're not missing much, I personally dislike raids, I can't spend 6+ hours on raids.

I was invited too for this weekend but I think I will likely play CO more than SWTOR
You stay sassy!
You can always forward your betakey to me ;-)
Haha for sure throw to some of us dieing to play the game. i been signed up on there since 08' and no luck with anything..sigh.

U jelly?

Extremely rough on hardware...

Just moving the sliders even. Fourth time was too much and my card died. Now that was because of my card, not the game.

This leads me to ask: Did you read the recommended hardware for your computer before hand and did your computer fit the specs?
"If half of what you tell me is a lie, how can I believe any of it?"
Now we know they don't invite people based off their computers.
So it is random like ppl say, all the information we gave them was just a waste of time. Argh bastards .
