Well finally the summer holidays are here. So can anyone recommend me a good mmorpg?
My last mmorpg was Everquest 2, it was fun for the first few months but after that things got repetitive. Another thing i found annoying was that you had to spend a lot of hours or a day or two to get a level. On the good side, I found the community there nice.

well EQ2 still has me on the grounds of community, but if your not comming back, i'd suggest give some free trials a bash before you decide.
both EVE online and the Saga of Ryzom have free trials, both are good games, do a search on these forums for info on either of them, or just give them a try, its well worth a shot.
i really should put this in my sig but...
if you say what about a game you enjoy, and what you dont and then people can give you better recomendations, other than just the games they like. but free trials are always wort a bash.
Well I was a gamer a month ago. I quit because it took too much of my time and education is my top priority.
I have got Guild Wars but it's not really my type of game. Maybe gaming isn't my thing anymore
EQ2
+ Community
+ Guild
+ Quests were pretty good
+ Rares - They didn't drop a lot for me so it felt nice to get one now and then.
+ Nettleville Hovel - Jumping on roofs with my friends and then ending it by jumping off
- Repetitive Battles - Click skills again and again...
- Skills - Getting skills/combat arts every level. Every 10 levels you get the same skill but with a changed icon, name and power.
-Everyone looked the same.
-Crafting - This bored me so I only got upto Level 12 Outfitter. I just found it annoying that you needed to craft something to craft the parts and then you need other things to use all the parts to make a sword etc
Myth of Soma
+ Skill-based ( I felt unique )
+ War of Worlds ( Devils against Humans every week )
Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst beta
+ Battles - Cool "light sabers"
- Rares had any value? Varista anyone?
I'd recommend trying Saga of Ryzom or City of Heroes. Both good games, if looking like everybody else is a big concern for you tho, I'd go with City of Heroes 1st.

Played: Age of Conan, DDO, Saga of Ryzom, SWG, DaOC, MxO, EQ2, and so on...
Wish List: Jumpgate Evolution, Star Wars: TOR, Star Trek
Try Star Wars Galaxies out.
It's fun, has a vast variety of things to do, has deep content, and a fantastic community. It's not a 'grind' except if you decide you want to become a jedi (which isn't necessary at all. I've been a Master Bounty Hunter since I started playing, myself. It's a skill based system as well so you're not locked into 1 class for eternity, you can drop skills and add new ones if you want to try something different. Looking like 'everyone else' isn't a risk at all as the customization in SWG is endless and doesn't stop at character creation. There are dozens of different types of armor and hundreds of different types of clothing to wear.
And some will tell you the graphics aren't good in SWG. Here's some proof that the graphics are first rate. Some were taken on my old system, some on my new system
Old System: P4 1.8ghz w/512mb RAMBUS RAM and a GeForce 3 w/64MB RAM
New System: P4 3.2ghz w/2gb 533mhz DDR RAM and a GeForce 6800 Ultra.
Graphics are tweaked for quality over gameplay. On the 1.8 the game got a little slow in town and in big PVP fights but was otherwise fine. On the new system I *never* lag except when COX is having issues.

Still in: A couple Betas
Here is my advice.
1.World of Warcraft
2.City of Heroes
3.Guild Wars
4.Final Fantsay XI
Just go to Ebay or Best buy and get WoW
Not trying to be mean triptogn but i really hate eq2 to slow for me.
