SV hasn't given out a lot of information recently, but today they have given a glimpse into some of the things they are working on, or have in the pipeline.

default Community Update

Dear Community,

Communication has been quiet for the last few months whilst we focus on the upcoming features, we have many tasks in the pipeline, one is that we're currently working on the next Patch. There has already been multiple revisions with significant progress being made, some examples of some key issues being addressed are Ghost horses and flagging issues along with a host of other fixes and additional features.

We're also looking into Nodes and specifically why we are having issues with these and how they affect spawns and we understand that this is causing major issues with the spawning of animals in the world. We do have a number of processes in place to try and identify the root cause of the issue and we do intend to correct this, however time has to be taken to make sure we correct it once and for all.

Current AI and it's development, were seeing that rare spawns like the Nitre queen for example will become very rare like intended and not spawning for a long time. In the past we have had a high spawn rate which hasn't been very realistic, In place now and as further development continues we will see this move to a more dynamic rate which will be based around a number of parameters like location and animal type..

Another area we would like to touch on is Item Reimbursement and where we stand on the situation. Mortal Online is a full loot PVP game and to be fair across the board we have a no item reimbursement policy. Having said that when a situation arises where a GM decides its necessary due to a bug, every action possible will be taken to obtain the items and restore them however there is a very small number of situations where this in fact might be possible.

Again from all of us, thank you for your continued support.

    ...Just...wow....

Um, I am not a computer guy so please could someone explain what the AI has to do with spawn rates? Isnt it just on a timer?

-Anyhow, this is SV's response to all the backlash of late. This is thir response to all the questions their fans are asking. This is whats coming soon (TM).

No content, no failed fix, no nothing. They are fixing a spawn timer and "looking into" the node line problem. Cool.

Nothing about actual features or content, nothing about the AI fix (resetting timers doesnt count), nothing about the "big meetings' at Gamescom, nothing about Partners.  These are the question people are asking on the forums since SV disappeared 2+ weeks ago.

    I win!!! LOL@U

Well, it seems to me "the community" was asking "SV,  you've been too quiet, wtf are you doing?"  This is SV going "this is what the fuck we're doing".  I'd rather they give us a focussed [realistic] list than try to hit every single bullet point that was ever complained about on the forums... THAT would be a useless announcement on their part.

This is very extreme. Nobody is asking for "every single bullet point that has EVER been complained about on the forums" to be listed. that post would have a word count that would break the internet and nobody wants that.

I think its pretty clear the questions the fans are asking and this was a complete dodge. Your right though, there isnt any hype now- Reality is crashing down.

Careful there, they didn't say anything about a 'node line' issue (one on my top 9 list).  They just talked about how nodes impact mob spawns, i.e. sometimes entire nodes conk out and don't spawn stuff - btw this happened back in beta at certain times, and was fixed, now back again apparently.

Fixing node line freeze would be a major improvement in core architecture (not happening).

WOW- You are right. I had to re read the thread but damn... Thats one of my main issues as well so I suppose I was reading into that statement. I had no idea about the spawn issue.

-This statement was worse than I thought then.

    LOL...

Not one thing on basic crafting & tailoring of cloth & leather armors. THen, finally balancing the armor equations. Yet, StarVault is still worried about husbantry & NPC spawns when they don't  even have the basics down. Like what is my running speed.

How about banded, studded armors..?  With duel weilding and actual personal skill invloved with combat. Not this fake (I AM IN A GUILD, I HAVE THE BEST WEAPOn, THUS I KILL U) mentality. Which is the predominant truth in Mortal Online, as most of these little boys never cut their teeth on FPS games and ONLY win battles because of their armors & weapons.

I'm not an expert video game designer, but I've played video games long enough to know a few things :

rather than spending days/weeks fixing the spawn for Nitre Queen cause its being overfarmed... why not ponder on the question WHY its being overfarmed? answer is simple, because its like the only source of ironsilk, because ironsilk is one of the few really useful material to craft equipement used for PvP, because PvP is the only thing to do.

So rather than fixing the darn spawn, why not add more spawns of different mobs who will be fun to kill and will give different loot which you can use for several other things, by adding more REAL content, and my real content I don't mean "horses can pee" type of content.

I mean you can do whatever you want with spawns, as long as the Queen and the Kimuru will be the only 2 real "big targets" in this game, they'll be pretty much perma farmed.

Where have the minotaurs gone btw? Weren't there trolls too back in alpha PvE footage?

Still not a word with regards to Tindrem?

Well I think we now know why it has taken years and they still do not have a functional AI.  They seem to think AI is a spawn rate as opposed to the actual artificial intelligence that the creatures use...

    Makes sense now.

I have to say I do not think the President's press secretary can dodge better than that.  He said a whole lot of nothing and not really getting to the core of the issues.

Who cares what span rate's are.  People want better AI, better stuff to kill and better loot.

Don't worry we are working on ghost horses.....   lol they have been in since beta and yes annoying but a core issue??  NO!

Yes nodes go down and creatures do not spawn.  But we want the nodes not being like a load instance line..

LOL and Item reimbursment......   Has anyone even complained about that once???

And where is Shinzon/Opal??  Still using the "I gotz no internetz"???  He must live in a cave under the ocean.

Just pathetic. Players have been waiting for weeks for some kind of dev response to the pressing and urgent concerns (i.e. ETAs for crucial content like AI and GUI, possible partnerships with publishers, etc), and we get... this?

It's not even Black Opal the community manager talking to us, but discord, a GM, saying "alright, we're working on possible fixes of some bugs".

Considering the source its undoubtedly all lies.  In truth they are working furiously on that which concerns the player base most.

Maybe....selling SV to someone with deep pockets and the competence to fix the game?

    Its about me

I dont think that potential buyers are beating down the door and someone buying the game or taking over development wont be as easily wooed by a Game trailer or Concept CGI...They are going to want to see the code to deem if its worth an investment- And even if Henrick decides to cut his loss and gives MO away at a bargain basement chinese fire sale price-  Is it fixable? Will fixing it be more difficult that just start from scratch? I dont know, but have suspicions.

    Henricks been really, really quiet.

Maybe we could start a donation drive and pay for Black Opals Internet (hook up fee if he isnt too far behind, plus a month) so he can update the fans. I would throw in a $10 and I am sure others would love to help Opal out in his time of need.
