Dragon Nest Europe

NaowutNaowut Member UncommonPosts: 663

I was really upset that nexon blocked EU IPs so I did some googeling and found the EU (SEA) version of the game.

If this is common knowledge Im sorry.

This is 'global' (global in current mmorpgs usually is not true global, but rather 'available to all, except countries, where was/is/will be local version') version, so i would not wait for specific EU only DN release. Would be nice to have server located in EU to minimize connection lags, but better not divide players population even more. Quote from www page:

Dragon Nest exists in several versions. Besides our service in Singapore and Malaysia, the
developer, EYEDENTITY Games, has also licensed out Dragon Nest in South Korea, China,
Taiwan, Japan, Canada, North America, Australia and Thailand. To protect the licensees'
interests, users from the aforementioned licensed regions are blocked from playing our
    Dragon Nest SEA service.

But is from January, now is 8 months later. If we assume cherrycredits version as SEA and EU in common, than facts would be correct.

I really hope the EU version will come, and also be hosted by a good company.

Point at least one good distributor company, which releases MMORPG in EU only area. I don't remember such one (well, maybe such diamond is very good hidden and not shines till now). So if there will be EU only release, don't expect miracles.

Thanks for this! Was so annoyed when I couldn't play from the other site and had to go scan through their forum to find out it was US only..

And when did I say it had to be in a EU area only?

There are already releases for NA and SEA (plus some asian countries with big MMO market), so what large area left to be in common with EU?
South America? Don't think so. Where would be servers located, so both parts would have acceptable pings. SA players would rather use SEA version (or NA, if could be unblocked).

Africa? Non existing target of MMO developers (in global (real global) MMORPG you can sometimes meet players from Africa, but is very rare thing).

West asian countries or Russia (often has different release)? Possible to include those with UE area, but it still makes almost the same EU only (or mostly) release.

SEA allows everyone to play, but their servers are located somewhere in the middle of the desert (physically no, ping-wise, yes.)

If SEA makes at least one server dedicated for UE area (with better pings, does not matter where is located), it would be enough for me. Nexon NA cannot do this (bought license for NA only), maybe SEA can (unless there is some other developer for UE only area, which means UE players may be blocked in future on SEA too.

    That's why:

I was just speculating answering to this question (if not EU area only release, than (EU + <another area(s)>) release, South America was just one of (im)possible <another areas>).

Well, there could be another releaser for EU area only (Nexon EU maybe? They have very long delays in releases (see Vindictus EU), but it is possible).
