Just curious about this. I played for about 10 min and walked away without looking back. I know I am in a minority but wanted to see by how much compared to others on this site. So answer Yes if you played for more than a week, No if less or none.

Tried a trial at some point in time art style simply isnt to my taste to the point of it being unplayable, LOTR was the same so it got all of 10 minutes of my time also.
Tried trial for a day and never looked back.
i played it twice.. both times i got about 20-30 mins of game time.. i hated the clicking action.. disliked the graphics.. just small things.
the reason why i wanted to like it was because of the amount of people playing. i would be able to join the world and have pople to level with.
isnt there a video of a chimp playing WoW somewhere on the internet?
Chimp Plays Far Cry
I got my friends into mmo's. A few years later, they jumped onto the Wow bandwagon, while I joined the haters. I saw them playing it once. I played for a couple of minutes, confirmed my suspicions, and haven't even considered touching it since.
I tried it for a little bit but went back to EQ2. I couldn't see what all the fanfare was about. It was okay but not as good as people bragged it was. I currently get tons of fishing email about my WoW account being hacked which strangely didn't occur until after I installed and played Starcraft.
So you wanted a "WoW veteran"?
Well here i am, flame on.
i would say the majority of america never played wow,if it was avail on consol ho now you would see a lot more having played it but computer only?not a chance to be known by a lot .most only saw the ads at tv and were like my mother what?not another add!
i played my free month, lack of open pvp, gear based grind and horrible/immature communiity turned me away
I played the beta with my wife. We didn't really get into it. I thought it felt like a hybrid between two games, I can only remember DAoC was one, its been so long. It felt like they were trying to get the DAoC fighting feeling, with the two sides, but their was nothing to do to support that fighting for the most part...So I figured if I wanted the fighting, id go back to DAoC...Then the other part was its questing etc....
I am not a huge instance fan, I have learned to deal with it, but I was hoping very much at the time that people would come along with something more open, and more like earlier EQ.
So I voted no, since I never came back. I am not big on playing a game that has been out for a long time, if I hadn't played it before. I think games get bloated and you never get that 'new' feeling if its got 3-4 expansions already. It just feels like you rushing to catch up. I prefer to be in when it starts.
I have never played WOW, never will.
I don't care if I was offered a free lifetime sub. I still wouldn't play WOW.
It's interesting that everyone in this thread has at least 'tried' it.
*Edit* except the person who posted just seconds before me. :P
You know what they say, you have to at least try something to form a valid opinion.
Tried trial, art style put me off.
Played it some years back. Really enjoyed it, grew bored eventually and moved on.
I self identify as a monkey.
I wont lie this game was fun some years back but last 2 expansions has killed the game for me. Don't care what they have to offer anymore I will not be going back I even declined their 7 day invite for Rage of the Firelands.
Played it longer than any other mmorpg. I quit around 3 years ago but had a great time as long as it lasted. There might be many good reasons to dislike it now but WOW did an awful lot right as far as mmorpgs go in my eyes and I have a lot of really good memories about the people I played with and the stuff we did.
My brand new bloggity blog.
Just as well, most of those emails are phishing attempts anyway.
Sandboxes FTW.
Played for 30 minutes after a friend gave me an invite code.
The amount of immature drivel and harassment people have to put up with completely put me off. Game itself wasn't particularly bad, but the community on the other hand...
Remember, it has to be fun to be a game. Grinding is a bedroom activity, and the point is definitely not to do my wife as fast as possible.
Same. It was released around the time (or maybe I heard about them around the same time) as Guild Wars and I thought the power system in GW and graphics were soo much better. Was occupied by GW and City of Heroes until about 2008.
"Never met a pack of humans that were any different. Look at the idiots that get elected every couple of years. You really consider those guys more mature than us? The only difference between us and them is, when they gank some noobs and take their stuff, the noobs actually die." - Madimorga
played a while with my friend's account when it wasnt even 1 years old and i found it really very boring, same skills with different numbers and particles, no feel of attacking/combat, trash community, lame dull quests after some time i said to myself "why the hell am i playing this?". really, no real purpose that keeps you going even after all those expansions and updates it is just a hamster wheel to suck your money out of your wallet.
Never pl;ayed. Got into final beta, say how "cartoony" the characters looked, deleted and never looked back. I don't care how the gameplay is, if I can't stand to watch my character, I 'm not playing!
