Apples and oranges. It always seemed to me that CoD catered more towards the kids. Perhaps that's just because the games began to attract more of the kids and then they realised that was where their forte was - with an individual like Kotick in charge, the number one priority for them is selling products, not making quality games. Obviously that's just business, but Kotick takes it to a whole new fun-crushing level.

That being said, I have no issues with people who like to play CoD. That's their choice; people take the whole thing far too personally in my opinion. I was somewhat excited for Black Ops when it was released, but in the end that was just Activision's capacity to market things, not to create things. Felt like the same old CoD to me, which was just stale.

I'm more of a Battlefield person. The game just feels more matured to me (and by that I'm not refering to the playerbase). I prefer the slower paced more open gameplay and maps to CoD, it's more my thing. I think I'm perhaps just too relaxed for the intense small-sandbox style FPS's.

Ahem anyway seriously, I don't see the point to a vs between these 2 games they bascally the exact same thing, just in a diff wrapper.

I don't think you could have said something farther from the truth.

Indeed.  Somebody missed the Sunday newspaper coupons to get a discount on a thing called "Clue."

Within the FPS genre, COD & BF games are like polar opposites.

"I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." Battlefield 3 looks pretty damn good. However I won't consider playing it until it either doesn't require Origin or EA changes the terms of service for Origin again.

Also I tend to enjoy fast paced shooters more than slow paced very team oriented shooters nowadays. I get my "group play" fix from MMOs.

Hands down easily said BF3. The true Battlefield Games (1942, BF2) always felt epic in the sense it was a "true" battlefield, fighter's dropping bombs and tanks hurling shells, infantry taking cover and sneaking to plant C4, choppers gunning down cap points. Team work, that's what I enjoyed about the battlefield series, COD is just a kill whore match, who can get the best K/D and quickest to unlock certain weapons.

In COD the maps are puny compared to BF's maps, hell even Bad Company 2 has bigger maps than COD games. Regardless, I will give the COD games props for their storyline, it did make my 60 bucks I spent on MW2 feel like less of a rip off when I was expecting Battlefield quality.

However of all FPS's, I look forward to Planetside 2 the most, hopefully SOE doesn't screw us again. Aww hell, who am I kidding, I know they will, but damnit I just want to play a modern day Planetside again! >_<
