I should have put more specifics, but I am too lazy. I was responding to your "Now when I play the T-34 it's just trying to stay alive. Trying to use the higher tiers as shields really doesn't work, at least not in MY experience." My "follow the big guys" was about VK3601 and PzIV, but I don't think you will grasp the difference.

Sorry bud but any tier can fun and doesn't require a high tier tank. Tier 2 & 3 is what's fun for me these days and if that doesn't meet your approval then tough chit.

I care not if you believe me since apparently you think only people that play high tier tanks are worthy of your belief. Your attitude reeks of elitist superiorty syndrome. The type that think anyone that doesn't play high tiers are not even worthy of logging into the game. I hate to pop your balloon but the game is meant for everyone to have fun regardless of the tiers they play.

If you don't believe me then I suppose you also don't believe the vast magority of the people that complain about the MM and base their complaints on tiers 4-6.  Yeah, they are all full of manure and your opinion means more than all of theirs.

I try to be respectful of people in the forums but you have shown your true colors so get over yourself and stop trying to be the almighty judge and jury of all that is WoT.

    Good day.

And you call me idiot? 6100 matches is a lie. No surprise you deleted your WoT username from the screenshots. You have a few hundred matches at most.

Anyone with 6k matches would have had top tier tanks in the garage to heal the inferiority complex and would have known all ins and outs of the game to be successful in any tier tank.

The rest are just your sick fantasies.

meh i happen to enjoy WoT.. though i know for a fact my M3 stuart cant scratch any T4+ i have tried... let me tell you the maxed M3 cant hurt a KV lololol though its nice to do 10% dmg to one before you die... its very rare.

if you are in T4 battles in a T3 or lower tank, you should always hang with a TD or med-heavy tank that is higher rank then your self, even if you cant hurt the tank its fighting. you might get lucky and draw fire long enough for your team to kill it. or get a lucky shot that takes it out.

too many people play WoT with the notion they have to win they have to get kills to be good.

iv had matches where i had no hope of hurting anything do to shell type and range.  so getting kills is impossible lol.

just login and have fun dont worry about kills or getting high level tanks.  i run around since CB on a free account unless WoT gives me free prem like last week.  other then that i dont care about high level tanks. CB i ran around with a panzer almost had a panther in CB but didnt have enough XP to unlock it lolol frankly i enjoy the T1-T4 matches over the T4+ battles. little more balanced in <T4 stuff. also rarer for tanks to 1 shot you unless its a SPG or TD.

Yep I agree with everything you said Ichman. It's shame though that the lower & mid tier light tanks get thrown into matches over 3 tiers higher - or so I've read. I've only 12 battles combined on my M3 Stuart & M5 Stuart and didn't get those really higher tier matches.  In my  M2MT (tier 3 medium tank) I find I don't have to hang back so much in a tier 4 match,  depending on the tanks in the matchup. Love that M2MT with 75mm howtzer. It's my most played tank till the day comes that I play my mid tier tanks again.

I never concern myself with kills, it's all about what I can do to help the team. Just on my M2MT I have 14 Top Guns, 5 Defenders,  and 4 Reapers but none of that really matters other than it helped the team.

My PZ4 and M10 can hurt the tier 8 tanks it get's matched against, just not much. Once in a while though you get the opportunity to finish off one of those and that always feels good. I'd just really prefer that most of my tier 4-6 matches were more competive instead of the opposite.

Well I would like to say that after tier 5 it gets much better. My T29 tank is almost always at the top of the tank list, and I can say the same about the tier 5 T1 Heavy. The only tier 4 I had that I couldn't do much in was the A20, the others were not as bad as you say. But then again, it might just be the skill of the player.

Happy people don't have time / interest to go post in the forums and make topics about how great the game is. They are playing the game. 200 people posting on forums how X or Y sucks means nothing, as there is currently 50k users online in EU server alone.

And this goes for any game btw. Never understood the "people post it on the forums, the game must suck bad!" mentality on some people...

Anyway, i myself had no problems even without premium account on getting to tier5 (and past), took less than 7 days for me (from scratch). Currently sitting in IS and Easy 8, aiming for IS-7 and Patton. And later King Tiger...

And i think that the MM system is "OK" it's not the best, but not the worst either. 2 tiers difference is nothing really, i've killed IS-3 with my KV-3 1vs1, both started at full health, and we were the only 2 players on that side of the map (neither team had any arty either)

By 7 days do you mean 168 hours? If so, it sound realistic. The game is grindy and 1 game mode only makes it worse.

And I dont think that 5 vs 8 tier can be called 2 tier difference, its either your math or your luck because most of the time its 5s and 8s against 5s and 8s with little in between. Also take in account that you have very small chance of defeating T8 in your crappy T5. All you can do is to fight with other poor guys like you or entertain T8s giving them XP and credits they need to repair their AWESOME HARD AND LONG T8 TANKS.

    p.s. 50k prime time
p.p.s. the game isnt bad, but it has downsides and lots of them.

    IZI MODO?! Ha-ha-ha!

At tier 1 you will be in matches against tier 1 & tier 2 tanks.
At tier 2  you will be in matches against tanks up to tier 4, this is especially true for arty & TDs.
At tier 3  you will be in matches against tanks up to tier 5. Not a big deal if you play arty or TD.
Then comes tier 4 and that's when the pain begins.  I feel safe in saying that 90% of your matches will have tanks up to tier 7. It wouldn't be so bad if 10% was matched with tier 7's but that's not the way it is and it seems the game producers want it that way.

Now why would they want it that way you may ask.  It is a F2P game and they have to make money, that's obvious. It seems though that they want the tier 4 tanks to be so mismatched that people will want to pay money to buy gold to exchange for experience. This way players can research the modules without having to actually play the tank and then buy a tier 5 tank. Researching the module upgrades is similar to skill trees in many fantasy mmos.  There are certain tank upgrade modules you have to use exp to research (learn) in order to research the next available tank in that tree.

Tier 5, btw, is only slightly bettter in matches than tier 4 so don't expect things to suddenly get much better. Polls on both U.S and EU forums show tier 4 to be the least enjoyable tier by a huge margin. Check the gameplay discussion/official V6.4 matchmaking discussion thread  on the oficial forums if you doubt this.  It is THE number 1 complaint about the game.

Personally I just stopped playing my tier 4 & tier 5 tanks until they change the matchmaking system and won't be supporting them with real money.  If you can somehow have fun with this horrible system then by all means go for it.

I can find no flaws in your statements.

What they said.  Tier 4 and 5 matching making is figuratively speaking - criminal.

If you don't like a game don't play it, and quit running to MMORPG.com to trash it.

I will run an experiment on weekend - open a new premium account and find out exactly how many matches it takes to get from 1 to 5 or whatever I can in 2 days. I could do it on my account as I have no Soviet tanks above level 1, but with the saved free experience it would take 0 matches precisely :)

I had this problem when I reached the tier3-4 with my tanks. I have a SU-85B, SU-23 and a M3 Lee. Fortunately, the default weapon of the M3 lee was powerful enough to scratch a bit the heavier tanks and to destroy the lighter tanks (sometimes I'm the heaviest tank in the game, which is really funny because the tier 1 or 2 can't even scratch you)

With the SU-23 I had a lot of problems until I unlocked the heaviest gun it can carry, and I loaded it with the most expensive ammo (the free ammo, not the premium) Now I can even blow Tigers with 2 or 3 direct impacts, which is a lot for a T3 arty. I don't know why this gun has 3 possible choices of ammo instead of 2, one of the free ammo is worse than the other free. Both are HE ammo so I don't see the point.

And with my SU-85B, it was a complete nightmare until I unlocked one of the heaviest guns it can carry. I recycled the gun that I was using in the previous tank, the ZIS-2, and it even couldn't scratch the lightest tanks I met.

Sadly, with this matchmaking system, higher damage and higher caliber is better than anything else.

PS It's a pain in the ass to use the M3 Lee to get the T1 HT, because the Lee, yeah, it has a nice armor, but it can't use its upper turret. It just can use the turret that it's fixed to the hull

These are the exact reasons why i quited WoT a few weeks afther it went live.

I played the game for the most part of the Beta got into a JagdTiger was close to driving a Maus( aswell as Russian and US Tier 8), then the game got live all was wiped ok knew that was going to happen didnt have a issue with that at all, but when i got into my Tier 4 TD and kept getting pitted against tiers 7 i totaly lost all the fun in the game the complete and utter imbalance and quited, as i refused to spend any RL money for that.

In battles u do get pitted against fellow T4 tanks aswell but with that many higher tier tanks around there was hardly any chance to get a actual kill to gain XP wich was basicly the only chance to get some real XP.

This was the major reason i quited the game having played the high end Tiers 9 and being close to Tier 10, i refused to go true all the shit again of getting true tiers 4-5-6, especialy P2P.

Wot is a very nice game but with a major imbalance issue around those tiers as i have stated many times during the Beta but so far nothing has changed, and i had at the end of the Beta near 2500 battles under my belt so i knew the game and its mechanics pretty well.
