They both are completely opposite things, and there are only 2 different types of people pretty much, i just think it is odd that it keeps coming to a tie, maybe you should go with whatever once someone makes another vote? or maybe you can just flip a coin at the end, i also agree with WHYAMIHERE that you should just shoot for the fps since you already pretty much started
twitch based combat (is that the right word for it?) where you actually have to use some skills to survive,
in oposite to most mmos nowaday, where you tab-aim and click-and-wait-"shoot" you skills at oponent.
so, give me a mmofps (a real one) and i am a happy thane
GW2's fighting style looks promising for example, or conan had some nice aspects too (hit where your weapon hits, not where you tab is aiming at).
give me a warhammer40k mmo with spacemarines engine. but i guess most PCs would just look surprised and die after a few secs of calculating all those infos, maybe in a few years

One thing i didnt like when i used to play Online FPS game before was the aimbot cheaters.
An aimbot (or "auto-aim") is a type of computer game bot used in multiplayer first-person shooter games to provide varying levels of target acquisition assistance to the player. While most common in first person shooter games, they exist in other game types and are often used in combination with a TriggerBot, which shoots automatically when an opponent appears within the field-of-view or aiming reticule of the player.
Aimbotting relies on the fact that each client computer must be typically sent information about all players, whether seen or unseen. Targeting is simply a matter of finding the position difference of where the player is located and where any opponent is located, and pointing the player's weapon at the target. This targeting works regardless of whether the opponent is behind walls or too far away to be seen directly.
If the game being played allows bullets to penetrate surfaces with minimal damage, the code can be manipulated to cause the bullets to penetrate an infinite amount of material and damage can be adjusted to guarantee a kill regardless of where the bullet lands. This severely magnifies the unfair advantage the aimbot would provide.
Some servers allow spectating, or seeing the game from the viewpoint of the active players. Recording of gameplay actions is also often possible. If someone was using a targeting aimbot, the bot would be plainly obvious to the spectator as unnatural exact position tracking. Some aimbots and triggerbots are blatant while others attempt to hide from spectators the fact they are being used through a number of methods. One being a delay in the firing, to hide the fact it shoots the instant an opponent is in the cheater's crosshair. Some Triggerbot programs allow the user the ability to toggle on or off depending on whether the mouse is held down or released.
These guys never learned how to play fair. So i just stick to MMOs.
Gotta agree with what has been said quit on whining if you are a wow fan because if we are here I think the reason why is pretty obvious. First of all as said above wow isn't even the best example of the most balanced mmorpg game. 1 of mmorpgs whose pvp gameplay is more balanced would be GW. Now you can say it sux wow it's the best but here we're just comparing 1 thing. As far as FPS are concerned you have similar gear to your opponents and even if you don't skill amount is much more valuable than whatever gear you use. Ofc fps itself has limitations. I've seen warriors doing 1vs9 in wow or mages.(yes not every class can pull this moments out of their sleave I just mentioned 2 I'm aware of) in FPS you can say: I did a 9/0 round or maybe you even did a better round but that's the thing they are all rounds it's not a whole fight and I doubt anyone would have the chance to pull this off. This is when probabilitys come out. This warrior that killed the 9 guys didn't kill 9 full wrathful guys I think that's obvious to you. but even if they are all mid geared guys none with less than 20k hp(using hp as a guideline only) it's still nothing easy but if you play an FPS and you are facing 9 guys on your own. Your gear will make no difference so if you would manage to kill them that would prove far more skill than the warrior who took down those 9 opponents. Even if that warrior did what he did perfectly his odds were a lot better than the ones for the FPS guy.

First person all the way, in terms of first person point of view, it grants so much more immersion from games.
The games I mostly play at the moment are first person RPG;
Elderscrolls mods
Dark messiah
Dead Island
Fallout
Stalker
M&B
Minecraft
For multiplayer shooters there has not been a good dynamic game since that I enjoyed since Desert Combat
As far as MMO's go im only playing SWG *** at the moment, still holding out for another good one though!
