Looking for some unheard mmorpgs!

KanylKanyl Member UncommonPosts: 252

Trust me, I have played all mmorpgs you can think of! Everything from WoW to Alganon, Craft of Gods, Fallen Earth, Istaria, Wurm Online, Aion, Vanguard, WAR, AoC, bla bla bla etc......

Anyway, I enjoy mmorpgs like Alganon, Fallen Earth, Wurm Online and many more. If you want a good explanation, I can give you one word: Cozy. I love rare mmorpgs, with a warm atmosphere and great community (even if it only has 10 players).

So, is there ANY mmorpg in 3D (I don't care about graphics in 3D), that you can think of? Any mmorpg that NO ONE have never heard of, but is like a diamond in a desert?

So, kodus to the person who can give me an mmorpg I have never played before! ;)

PS: No sci-fi titles, I don't like spaceships :(

PS: No anime, korean style mmorpgs, I dont like 'em :(

If you like crafting, a Tale in the Desert is mostly only that, in a hardcore crafting sort of way, and as such seemed to attract mature players instead of the usual bang bang crowd

DDO, Sarlona server (nicer folks, not as many elitists), maybe.  A fun game that is much different then the rest of the pack unless you have already played it as you probably have looking at your list.

Funny, I was going to suggest Istaria, but it's on your list.  I just started playing there.

Rare and unheard of?  But with cool population.  Most I know of are so dead there's not much left.

Try Xsyon.  Watch some youtube videos and see if it's something your interested in.  Be warned, it is currently in a pay to beta state but the devs constantly communicate with the community and listen.

Try Face of Mankind before it goes the way of the dodo. Best PvP experience I ever had, but that was on it's 2nd rerelease during an OB period. Lots of people were trying it, was amazing for a 16-hour hardcore jaunt of wargames that we waged across at least 6 different planents. It sure as hell won't be like that these days, but the way factions are defined by role, as well as the mission and prison structure are of legendary genius caliber. Playing that game was the best thing I've ever done for my inner game designer, it's inspiring.

I like the idea with Istaria, but even if I don't care much about graphics, I do with this one. The movement is kinda bad, and so so other parts, even if I love the crafting etc. It was not my cup of tea :(

I have played DDO, which was not a game for me

I have played A Tale In The Desert and same goes here as with Istaria. I can't handle some graphic parts, like empty enviroments. Sorry, I am not bashing the games!

Xsyon have I heard and read much about, and the high price with a bad development team (I have read much about this, not my opinion), I don't feel to spend money on it.

Face of Mankind seems interesting, but I hate sci-fi styled mmorpgs, same here: I am NOT bashing the game!

Sorry if I seems like a person that only find bad things in games, I don't. I just want to find something that is my cup of tea!

Thanks so much for all the help! =)

    There's no spaceships, and it's a third-person shooter on the ground. Diplo-Planetside w/out vehicles.

~and you ARE bashing it!!!! *FFfffuuuuu*

    Sorry :(

Nah really, I was not too specific and I did not say anything about spaceships in the quote ;)

I was meaning more like futuristic style or what you call it. The starting are loos like in a spaceship, yeah...

But you know what, I will still download it and try it and keep what you said in my mind! :)

I worked on Face of Mankind a while back and will say it had so much potential but the developer squandered it. He refuses to listen to his staff or his community and went ahead with stupid plans and changes. As of now, it is run by the former publisher. They are improving the game but the community is still really bad mostly (from what my birdies tell me).

I was also a GM for Xsyon and when I left (due to being hired to work on another game) it needed some major improvements. People capped skills in a day or two, pvp was a joke, combat was useless, armor played very little role (other than making me look sexy). I haven't kept up with it much but if Jordi (the developer) made the changes that needed to be made, it would be a very fun game.

Both very good, but Uncharted Waters is so good, and so F2P that I can't believe it survives, that I am going to download it and start playing again. Right now, now.
