List of good ideas from a long time poster.

Death Shroud I agree with your list of changes.  But in reality it is a total revamp of the current game.  Everyone should give it a read.

"SV do not seem to have the time to play mo on a regular enough basis to notice were there are issues with the game.

This is a long list of changes and tweaks that imo MO needs. Each one thoughtfully planned out through my time of playing MO i have been writing these things down and now i have a long list of changes. my idea with them is that they need to be a simple as possible and could possibly be added with new patches on a regular basis."

i think that quite a few of these suggestions i listed could be implemented in a relatively short amonut of time but would have a positive effect on the game, other would obviously take quite abit of implementing but i think the majority of people agree with msot of the changes i suggested. Its jsut a case of if sv actually read it or take on board the changes. Or even understand whcih are needed since their own playing experience is limited. they ismply might not understand the urgency or importance of these changes or any changes themselves and rely on the community to shout about what needs changing and whoever shouts loudest gets heard.

I think it's a valiant attempt to fix a lot of what the game has wrong.

But knowing how well the SV team programs and manages their code, there's no way in hell this would be implemented without basically breaking the game for everybody. For a structured dev team, it could possibly go in smooth, but this is anything but. I think that your expectations should really match what SV has thus far shown you it can do, and that is to say, not a hell of a lot.

Seems a little late doesn't it?  Peoples time might have been better spent trying to fix the game rather than "sell" it. Perhaps SV will listen and end the cycle.

That said after re-reading the list, a lot of that would take significant development work, and when it has to layer with existing systems, even more.

It's a non-trivial implementation even for a good dev team. With SV's though, it's an impossible implementation.

What I find interesting, is that he took his time to post all that in MO forums. Seems as if he put a lot of thought and effort into that post. As of right now his post has had 88 views and not a single response 24 hrs later.

I am sure he might get 1 now. The 2 replies in the thread were his continuations.

well i dont mind if people dont reply to it, so long as the devs actually look through the changes. But i guess people dont want to discuss boring stuff like tweaks and alterations to existing features, they would rather talk about completely new systems that are highly unlikely to ever get implemented like terrain deformation boats etc

he's right though, a lot of players get stuck on pie-in-the-sky/long-long-term features and discuss them ad nausem... it's something I noticed in other mmo forums, and after giving it some thought I think it's because it's more fun to talk about things where they have 'control' over all the variables.

I equated long-term dev goals with 'pie-in-the-sky' before... to explain:  in an industry where "soon" can mean months, when devs say a feature (like boats) won't come in until x feature comes in, and they say x feature is a long ways off, it's safe to say that these features should be treated as hypothetical.  The devs probably haven't given it too much attention yet, and certainly haven't talked about it in detail publically, so there's not really any framework to restrict the flights-of-fancy of the playerbase.

Either way, those discussions strike me as futile, typically.
