MMORPG.com Managing Editor Bill Murphy has been spending some quality time in Perfect World Entertainment's Rusty Hearts. He's got a few thoughts to share as well as a terrific video of him takin' down an early boss in a manly smack down! Check it out and then leave us a few thoughts in the comments.
Like Vindictus, Dungeon Fighter, or Dragon Nest before it, Rusty Hearts starts the game with players picking one of three (a fourth gun-slinging class is on the way) pre-made characters. There’s no real customization to speak of. They each have a back-story, you’ll see them interact together throughout the game, but they’re not your characters. You’ll get new skills as you level, but there’s no personalization in stats or skills either. This alone will put some folks off, but for those who may be fans of the JRPG or otherwise, it won’t really do much to turn you away. Think of it like playing through an anime, and you’ve got a good sense of what you’re in for.

I am having absolute blast.
I must say I enjoy it much more than Vindictus. (Although both are very good)
I can not put my finger on why...
Perhaps because its much more Arcade like. And simply good gameplay.
But you should absolutely not refere to this games as MMO
They are persistant , co op, arcade games.
Its completely new breed, perhaps requireing new definition.
But they are real fun as a pick up casual games !
Pre-made characters....
Im also playing it, the game is awesome in many different ways the only "problem" is that you can solo almost everything, im lvl 14 and still no need to group up, still... the game blows.
first impression?cant play it ,oh it start but something rusty heart is doing isnt compatible with my screen so my screen turn off and say this isnt compatible.lol first time in almost a decade i experience this.
I'd be playing the game right now, if my account wasn't banned. I played throughout Closed Beta just fine, I've played several of PWE's other games closed betas, open betas, and releases just fine. But I play ONCE during the Open beta last thursday and next day I find out I'm banned for using a "banned IP" or something. Sent an email that day, still haven't heard back.
Not like I'm missing much from it though. Customization is bare-bones, the weapons don't really change much past just changing the skin of it even for the rarer ones, and well... if you've killed 100 skeletons, you've killed them all.
This is an awesome new breed of f2p games. Definitely check it out.
This is just another crappy cash in Vindictus style game like Divine Souls
And look how that turned out
The servers are dead and this game is going to get pulled in a few months, don't waste your time
This game is sick. It's like a multiplayer Devil May Cry but it's free. Lobotomist is right, MMO is not really the right title for it, but there are servers full of people and you can raid dungeons together.
i play on east-coast server and barely see 1 person , but i havent crossed into main city yet .
The game is still in beta.
And still. Its not MMO per se.
You dont need hundreds of people.
Its simply real good "beat them up" game , with co op, and kind of persistant progression of items and skills.
You only need 4 buddies
My impresion of this game is verry good. It's kinda reminds me of DevilMay Cry but it's better because you can play it with youre friends. But the single thing i hate about this game is that i have to kill 1000 etc mobs on quests. But it compensates with some quest like finding storyline dungeon quests ,on every dungeon level u experience something diffrent feeling.
In the end if u want a game to play ocasionaly or hardcore with youre frends u shoud try it and don't read all the crap from all hatters because on every game must be some haters that dosnt like that game from it personal thing.Perfect World company know what they are doing not like some companies , i don't give names and it has good games:D
THE END
I've been playing the open beta for the past few days and it's pretty fun. I can't wait until they unlock Natasha, ranged with guns? Win.
I Played it, it's "ok", but it's just another Asian MMO with pre-made Emo characters made from the simplistic anime art style trying to attract young teenagers and 20 year olds. I'm sick of these types of Games. The whole Anime thing is way way over-done. They must be running out of things to make now-a-days
