Gold Accounts on X question.

Ok so I have a question about Gold Accounts on the EQ2 X server? I activated my SOE full access acount.. Went with the 3 month plan, and I was looking at the EQ2X account types.
I have4 of my friends that are going to come back to the game with me.. (they all know each other).. Then I have a seperate friend who wants to come try out the game as well (they dont know him). Unfortunately he is broke, has no money and wants to play on the X server due to this and wants us to all play there as well. We all have gold accounts, and were talking about starting over from the beginning, instead of playing our older characters which we got up into the 30s. (that was years ago).
Anyway it appears that Gold accounts have limitations on the X server.. IE you have to buy extra races and such. Is this correct? am I reading it right? My other friends are like well we dont really know this guy.. Why should we have to pay even extra just for him to be able to play Race X on the X server.
So is the only way to get really full access is to get an Platinum account on the X server? Also are other servers like this as well? We were originally looking to Antonia Bayle.. As everyone says its the best community.

Only the races are optionall.... but you have access to all classes and all other stuff with a gold account except the latest expansion
Big advantage of the X server... there are people everywhere.

Full access doesn't require Platinum, just Gold and buy the extra race packs. After that it's like Live: you can buy the latest expansion if you want to play that content. Freeport (the EQ2X server) is the only one with that ruleset. Yeah, Gold plan is a poor deal: same cost as a Live sub but still wants you to buy access to most of the races. "Best community" is a loaded question. AB is certainly the most populated server, with Nagafen second (I think) and highest-pop PVP server.
I can't presume to tell you how to handle your friends. My experience (not very current, I'm afraid) is that Bronze (true freebie) on EQ2X was pretty painful to anyone with experience in the Live game. You really need Silver for a half-way tolerable play (again, I speak as one who plays Live, not someone truely new to the game). Your other friend may not want to stick around under those conditions. Then again, Silver is a one-time $10 payment, or $5 on one of SOE's occasional double Station Cash holiday specials.

gold is the same as live except you have to pay extra for most races
race packs are 7.50 each
the races w no extra fees are
Human, Barbarian, Half Elf, and Erudite
Ive been gold on EQ2X for more than a year
the racial restriction doesnt bother me but it may matter for other players

ya sadly this is the way of SoE. i play on Live and even owning all the xpacs i would still have to pay for the Freeblood race, which to me seems ridiculous. but there it is....

Were you subscribed during December-March? Have you bought the Velious expansion? Then you can just /claim Freebloods.
No Veteran rewards on EQ2X, at least not for gold

IMO EQ2X is just a rip-off to get casual players to EQ2. If you're a EQ2 Live player, best stick to those servers since for EQ2X, you gotta pay for everything you want outside the regular package (gold/platinum or use CS a lot). Not to mention (as said before), no veteran rewards, and AFAIK no /LoN cards either in EQ2X (though you can use them from EQ2 Live for sure).
And worse of all (IMO) is that there's only the monthly sub plan or the annual. There's no in-between like Station/EQ2 Live offers...
Gold subs on EQ2X get 5 LON packs each month like Live
but ya, no discounts for pricing and dont get all races
EQ2X will be receiving Vet rewards sometime next year (and they will be backdated to server launch)

for EQ2X’ers, you’ve never received credit, so you’d get credits as far back as August last year when we launched if you’ve been here that whole time.
