Star Trek: Infinite Space, set in the Deep Space Nine universe, is a game that has kindled hope in fans of the Star Trek property. MMORPG.com's Christina Gonzalez had the opportunity to check out ST:IS and has a preview report that will fan that tiny flame into a much larger one. Read on, Trekkies!
As a nearly lifelong Star Trek fan, Star Trek: Infinite Space was already on my personal radar, so I was excited to go check it out. I am one of those fans who looked forward to Star Trek Online from its announcement and was later disappointed with the game. But if Infinite Space stays as true to the spirit of Star Trek as it seems now, it could be just what we fans are looking for.

Everything I read about ST:IS from the beginning makes me wanna try that game. Perhaps I need to know that not all ST games have to be as shallow as STO.
But now you've got me really excited.
As a trekkie who could never really choose between Picard and Sisko, I'm delighted to know that both styles seem within grasp. I love the player choice-based scenarisation, I really hope it will be as good as it sounds. Few games achieved greatness on that road, yet those are my favorites — Deus Ex 1, some Star Wars games, Civilization (by design, agreed), etc.
I know I'll like TOR, because I seem to highly enjoy everything Bioware; but I'm no Star Wars fan — and by a very long shot. If ST:IS turns out well, it'll be my utopia of choice.
as long as cryptic isn't involved in it, I will try it out.
I'm looking forward to giving this one a try. I love that they will have real exploration and diplomacy in this game.
"Oh my, how horrible, someone is criticizing a MMO. Oh yeah, that is what a forum is about, looking at both sides. You rather have to be critical of anything in this genre as of late because the track record of these major studios has just been appalling." -Ozmodan
You've intrigued me, I want to try this one.
Maybe it can wash the stink of STO out of my CPU...
If you are the ship then am not interested. I want a ST game that has me part of the crew as that is what ST is all about.
